The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

"In current issue of Bloomberg Businessweek, article mentions John Sculley, formerly of Apple, bought the domain MDLive.com for a company called MDLiveCare. Sculley is an investor for the company and advised the CEO the purchase was essential. MDLive.com was acquired for $200,000. "

A nice sale !

Hello guys, do you usually include elements of scarcity and competition in all the emails you send out?

Sale of office-anywhere (dot) com completed today for ยฃ500 GBP (approx $810 USD).

Picked it up on here for under $20 and renewed once or twice.
Did have a plan for it, but wasn't worth passing up a few extra pounds, esp as I'm way behind with development plans.

Awesome! how did you sell it? were u approached or the opposite?

I contacted the owner of .com with some other potential buyers but this one seems more interested and paying the highest amount as compare to others...

Brilliant! How long did the whole process take?

I have cases like this but most are .co.uk owners while I am the .com owner. Do .co.uk owners value .com version of their domain name? Has anyone sold .com version to .co.uk owner and what is the success rate?

It depends on the buyer. If they think it's worth to buy they simply go for it. I just don't buy domains looking only the lower extensions registered.

Exactly. I forgot to post in this thread. I hope there is no harm in sharing it too late ;)

It will be very interesting to share how you persuade the owner of .COM to buy your .NET. I have had such cases and it seems that the owner of .com doesnt care for other extensions. Maybe you got lucky or maybe you have special way to persuade?

Sometime it's difficult to sell .com to the .net owner. It all depends on the need and how well educate the person regarding domain names. If he understands the real value he will definitely buy the lower extension as well.

In my case, I knew the buyer will be interested because he own this domain in lower extension other than .net as well...

I have seen many companies let's say own .com and 10 other extensions but they are not interested in buying .net. They are one of the crazy people out there. May be playing with you to lower your asking price or drop the domain for them to buy at reg fee :D

Both .com

UrbanWinery 1650
GUSJ 375

The wine domain I've had for a while and was hoping for a higher sale but would rather log a sale than hold out for more (sedo negotiation). The LLLL I got a Godaddy offer.
