The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Some recent sales:

RentMovies.tv $125 Flippa auction hand regged

V/u/t/u/n/e/./c/o/m Buyer sale price $1539 at Brandbucket transaction in escrow (Posted for just under 3 months) Also a hand reg the same day I submitted to BB

Did you have to list your domain on homepage or special category by paying extra fees or just listing fee was enough ?

thanks,

Sanity.net sold for $2750 (Sedo)

I originally bought it because a CD store here in Australia was called Sanity, so I figured someone else might use it as a brand too.

thanks,
I paid the 90 bucks for a featured listing. I have 5 other names with them and only one other s/a/m/e/s/u/i/t is listed as a feature not sure if it really makes a difference. I also found if you pay 100 or 300 for the logo it doesn't really give you a better logo. Just a higher fee.

Thanks for the information. I have two names accepted and will see how it works.

As a sitdenote: brandbucket was very quick the last 2 weeks (i also received resposnses within 2 or 3 days, both rejections and acceptance). So this is not necessarily an indication for anything but seams like a general change in their response time.
However since your domain was accepted, it should be a good domain for their marketplace and audience. But if i were you , i wouldn't start to calculate possible maximum prices based on some subjective indicators, unknown factors, etc.

If i were you, i would set the +%20 (max price), no discount and list it.

Plus, when you say "how much we are leaving on the table", you are at the same time assuming that you have
(1) the same number of visitors as brandbuckets site (which is no. 1 in google for "brandable domains", etc.
(2) the same number of base customers and audience who visit their website
(3) the same proactive marketing strategies
(4) the same level of trust
etc.
etc.

In all domains that are sold let's say in excess of 1k there should always be an element of thinking if the domain could have fetched a better price - let's take the example of "drinkify" which was sold by mazkel - it is perfecty possible that he could have got a much better price for that name, had he managed to look for potential buyers himself or if he held on much longer until a better buyer came forward.

Some domains are just shouting that they are quality domains - to judge that, I normally turn off my emotions and apply some fundamental rules to it. In this case as I mentioned above - it is a short catchy, brandable and meaningful name, which I am not really too bothered if it's sold in the short term since I can hold on to it until I find a good buyer for it a bit later.

yes, but its also perfectly possible that nobody would see the domain and buy it at all and mazkel ending up selling it for $20 in a forum or drop it after 2 years. Its ALL possible. Everything is possible. My philosophy is: take it while you can and don't think too much about the "what ifs...."
I have seen extremely brandable .com names dropping (in fact thats the place where we find our domains. Where you found your domain which you are talking about, no?) so, the fact that the domain dropped means (not always but often times) that the previous owner wasn't able to sell it or didn't receive any offer and dropped it (unless he was an enduser / it was a developed website, etc.). Anyway, its your domain, you can put a price tag of 10.000 on it and wait. I just told you what i would do, which isn't necessarily the best solution for everyone.
I am generally trying to be on the safer side and not so much the "ALL IN" gambling type of domainer. and thats how i can generate a more or less constant stream of income for myself. Again, there are dozens of different strategies out there.

They are reviewing names faster now. Don't think it has anything to do with quality.

The first domains I had submitted took 27 days to be accepted. The last domains I submitted were reviewed in about a week. They've accepted 2 more of my domains (both hand-regs).

Great job on the sales members but please respect the thread and only report completed sales ...lets not mix it up with other information that would be best suited in it's own thread.

Thanks for understanding and keep them sales going strong!
