Hi, will you lose rep points if you give rep to other members?

i think you loose rep points if you give negative reps to others. if u give positive reps then you have nothing to loose

I just tested it out, and I still had the same amount after giving positive reputation to another member :tu: .

Also, True ... as Staff™ I believe you get a bit more weight with your leaving of Rep. points, as well IMHO. Not quite Emeritus™ weight, but pretty good ... :p :lol: :notme:

:D Nice. Emeritus status itself lies in its own league.

For the discussion I think leaving +ve rep points will not deduct the points. I don't know about -ve rep points because I seldom give -ve and whenever I have gave in past I haven't checked. Don't check it on me though :D

Just for contradiction's sake as far as i can remember, the position (Staff/ Emeritus) does not determine how much rep power the user has (unless RJ has modified your rep powers manually)

Nope, if it took your own points when leaving rep then it'd be like members are getting punished for leaving others positive rep...which is hardly the case. We encourage everyone to leave rep when they feel something is worthy of it.

p.s. there is no -ve rep system on NP - just neutral rep!
