Reliable and Cost Effective Domain Registrar?

I probably register around 100-150 domains a year and renew approx 150-250.

I register most of my domains with Godaddy, using their cheap domain registration offers - but renewals can be expensive, particularly due to the UK credit card charges that GoDaddy employ.

Is there realistically a better option for me currently in the market? I point blank refuse to use a new (recently opened) domain registrar or a JoeBloggsInc - it needs to be reputable and reliable.

Cheers guys (and girls).

Over the last 2 years I've transferred all my domains from GoDaddy to Dynadot. I'm a SuperBulk customer. I haven't regretted it. About $0.20/domain difference in pricing. I haven't regretted the decision. Although I did like the GoDaddy Control Panel, Dynadot's takes a minimalist kind of approach, which is refreshing. Registration and renewal are always the same cost, in my experience.

I would think that any registrar that possesses those kind of characteristics, would have been very popular.

And there are just a handful of popular registrars to choose from anyway. And im sure you all know them by now.

there are some 1-3 per customer cheaper offers from various registrars, but for a domainer nothing beats Godaddy pricing.

Current pricing on Dynadot SuperBulk vs GoDaddy DDC

tld DD -- GD
com $8.50 $8.37 sale usual $8.47
net $6.75 $7.17
org $8.50 $7.17 sale usual $8.67

In addition you get free privacy at Dynadot with SuperBulk pricing, which can be somewhat tailored, see whois for comjr.com, as an example. I particularly like this feature.

First is to make sure if it's GoDaddy that makes the extra charges, or is it your credit card that assesses it on US currency purchases?

As many registrars are US-based or operate in US$, you might get the charge with other registrars as well.

Maybe start looking for some affordable UK-based options
