according to bob parsons weblog........

Since the “new” second ad was rejected, I decided to fall back on my original plan and show our “approved” ad in both spots. So if you watch the entire Super Bowl®, you will see Go Daddy’s ad during the 4th commercial break in the first quarter. It’s the third commercial. You will also see it during the final two minute warning. It will be the second commercial

Why does the Godaddy Girl remind my of Pamela Anderson :|

Commercial is up, together with a full length movie version :o

The full movie was kind of amusing. "Wardrobe malfunction" :o It will be interesting to see how effective the GoDaddy aired commercial was.

Check out the latest news from Bob Parsons:

What happened to Go Daddy's second Super Bowl ad spot?
As you may have noticed our Super Bowl ad only appeared during the scheduled first quarter spot. It was scheduled to run also in the second ad position during the final two minute warning. Our ad never ran a second time. Instead, in its place, we saw an advertisement promoting "The Simpsons."

The NFL persuaded FOX to pull our ad.
We immediately contacted Fox to find out what happened. Here's what we were told: After our first ad was aired, the NFL became upset and they, together with Fox, decided to pull the ad from running a second time. Because we purchased two spots, we were also entitled to a "Brought to you by GoDaddy.com" 5 second marquis spot. They also chose to pull the marquis spot.

...
I'm sure you'll be hearing more about this over the next few days. I believe that it's the first time ever a decision was made to pull an ad after it had already been run once during the same broadcast.

by far, worst commercial all night ... completely pointless ... best commercial hands down was in the airport where people started clapping for returning military ... followed by the car and tomato sauce

My favorite serious commercial was the soldiers in the airport. My favorite humorous commercial was the spaghetti sauce with the cat.

Overall I thought the whole thing was pretty placid. No real outrageous commercials, and the halftime show... I think they were trying to go for the polar oppositie of what happened last year and they hit that mark on the nose. (No disrespect to Mr. McCartney but a Super Bowl half time show is supposed to be a grand spectacle of entertainment pagentry... this was a 60 year old rocker doing his hits from 30 years ago... and nothing else. I realize they wanted to avoid controversy but would it have killed them to throw in a few dancing girls? :) )

I suppose the mildness of the whole thing probably worked in GoDaddy's favor because they were about the only racy thing happening. But I only saw the commercial once... I thought they were supposed to show it multiple times. When they did show it it was right at the start of the game. I hope Parsons feels he got his money's worth because 2.4 mill is a tough nut to swallow otherwise.

It will be interesting to see if he does it again next year.

After seeing the banned ad and the real ad, I don't see why the banned ad was really more lewd than the real one (not that I think either one of them was offensive really). I have to agree with the FoxSports commentary on the site. That they stopped paying attention to what was being said part of the way through. My favorite ad was the guy holding the cat in one hand and the knife in the other with the spaghetti sauce on the floor. Classic.

If I was GoDaddy I would sue the NFL and FOX for 2.4 million and get my money back for not showing the second ad.

Not really that effective if it was to make those who do not know what domains are, Guys are just wondering who the woman is , Women who aren't bi or lEsbains probably turned off by the ad. Could have been better maybe doing a netzero type thing going after Net SOL and Register.com just my opinion but for domains Candice Michelle just does not work. www.candicemichelle.com

Nahhh, they got a lot of good publicity from the ad that didn't air, probably to a more targetted audience than the one did. Although a lawsuit would give him even more publicity in that arena against censorship. I get the impression that the 2.4 million was spent because Bob Parsons just wanted the award of playing with the big boys. I'm sure it's a big trip if you have the cash to play on the Super Bowl ads. Look also at the secondary views, the ads that are on the websites that show the commercials.

Yes! We're most certainly going to air a commercial during the SuperBowl next year.

...on a different channel though, that still ok?

What I found the most interesting about the Godaddy superbowl ad was that the godaddy chick's lips actually said "register domains for 7.95" but the voice over said "register domains for 8.95".

It's like they changed their mind about that extra dollar savings to pay for the commercial itself :)

I also wish they would have said "domain names" instead of "dot com names", but it was cool to see domain names in general promoted in such a big event.

Pointless to who? I dont think there was a good commercial all night. As far as godaddys commercial goes it said exactly what the company offered. low cost domain reg. The girl was just a little extra to make you remember. And not to mention the traffic that domain must be seeing right now ....it must be insane.

Yeah I know I was shocked that they did but I think that it was a success for them.
