Hey all,

I have a regular hosting account through hostgator which is great! I've been considering upgrading to a reseller account. I like the idea of having my domains on seperate accounts. I've never liked the idea that someone could go to site2 from site2.site1.com. I'm assuming that someone would have to know the domains are together in order to use them in this way.

I've been thinking of developing an adult name and I don't want that one linked to any of my other sites in any way.

Also, do you think that having my sites on seperate accounts will make it harder to manage or easier? I don't have many sites now but I can see how having many sites could prove difficult in managing everything.

Hoping to hear some opinions with people who have been done this road and what their experiences were.

Thanks!

if you just have a handful of small sites then i find it easier to manage all in one account. bigger sites or sites that have multiple people working on it might benefit from being separated from the rest.

before developing the adult name, make sure hostgator allows the type of content you will have or you might wind up with your account closed.

I like to have 1 site on one account, its way better and I dont understand why people would make multiple sites with one account when you can get reseller hosting and just create an account for each site and dont have to worry about the site2.site1.com or site1.com/site2/

Thanks for the opinions guys! I think the way to go is to get the reseller hosting and seperate all of my sites. I like the idea of having them totally seperate from one another.

With multiple shared web hosting account they are separated by FTP accounts with reseller by CP accounts. I believe that the last solution is much more better.

If your budget is not an option and you would like to do on the server whatever you want just move to the VPS. That will give as much freedom as you need.

Low priced VPS without managed service could become problem if you do not know how to manage it. In that case, leave the management of server in the hands of hosting company by picking a reseller account, so that you can concentrate on your website development and promotion work.

VPS is always gopod deal but in any case you will need to do some work there. So if you are not looking bothered with that I suppose that you can stop with reseller web hosting options
