I know that Google eventually drops PR on domains that have expired and been picked up by someone else, but it seems to take a while. I just checked a couple of PR 4 domains that dropped last month and were directed to parking pages and they still have PR4.
What, if anything, is to stop someone from picking up a bunch of PR4 and PR5 domains and put them up as sites with a handful of newly written articles (quality doesn't have to be high, just enough to be considered unique by search engines) and then linking to a bunch of your other sites that you want to build PR on? Knowing that they will eventually be worthless once Google updates the PR, is it worth it to build PR on other sites in the short term?
