Hi

I'm doing a website for a friend, and he wants me to register the domain for him. He has no interest (or time) to bother doing it himself. He wants to give me the money, and get a working website in the end.

My question is, how do I register a domain with him as the owner? Is there a way to change the name of the owner for that one domain inside my account? It's a .ca, if that matters. We're both Canadian citizens.

What you can often do in this situation is you can list your friend as the registrant since he will be the owner of the domain, and you can list yourself as the technical contact. That way people know your friend is the legal registrant and you are simply managing the domain for him.

I would set up a separate user account with the registrar, using his own info. So he still has access to his name without it being mixed with yours.
