Hello,

I registered 9 domains around new years {31st}. I uploaded them to sedo, and in 1 day I got over 1100 visitors.
Has this ever happened to you? Get a ton of visitors to newly registered domains?

5 of my domains got over 200 visitors each in one day. The other 3 of my domains getting around 50 views a day.

*Right now I just have the for sale landing pages turned on at sedo. No ads, just straight to For Sale landing page.

But I am starting to wonder if I should try to capitalize on all the traffic. If the keywords keep trending looks like may have around 30,000 visitors in one month.

Again this is all data for 1 day .

You think is high chance for a sale considering all the traffic going on?
All my domains are priced at around $4,000 each. I may change price soon. I don't know if way too low priced , or priced just right for a quick sale. If the topic keep trending and if it goes mainstream, then they would be worth a lot more in my opinion. So far all the hype on this topic is mainly coming from YouTube and TikTok. Mainstream news not really talking about this yet. I may release the topic of my niche soon, I know that would help you all comment. I still thinking of other names to register in this niche.

The domains are all on the topic of something that started trending this past week. Generic keywords. 2 words in .com .
What would you do? ... just leave the for sale landers up or try to figure out a way to capitalize on all the traffic? I think I have exact matches of the topic in .com but also waiting to see the exact words mainstream is going to be using if this gets more popular. I was actually super surprised I was able to register the domains.

I could potentially forward all the traffic to one domain and build a website, but then ruin the risk of selling one of my domains.
I am not really sure a way to monetize all the traffic.

Any thoughts or comments about this? Anyways just thought I would share.

Don't be extremely excited. It is almost sure that it is bot/spam traffic. When a domain is registered hundreds of different bots start crawling it, spammers send cheap development offer emails, etc.

These days only the very-very best domains have such huge type-in traffic, not newly registered ones.

You can easily test it with parking, if there is no revenue, the traffic is not real.

I got 70 clicks in a few hours or so , but then I disabled ads, and put up direct domain sales page lander only. Hoping someone would buy one of the domains since such a hot topic right now. I only earned .12 cents from ads but honestly not test the ad pages very long. So I switched to Sales Page lander only. I may turn the ads back on and leave it for a few days to test the ad revenue again.

Doesn't 70 clicks that earned me .12 cents, seems really low to me. 70 clicks for .12 cents ? that is what is says on sedo dashboard .. Does that seem low?

Thanks, that is why I took down the ads, and put up the sales landing page. No ads, just straight to the sales page.

Hi

follow advice given above. you need to know if the traffic is real, so put the ads back.
you can still receive offers using the pay per click pages.

also, if the names hold up and earn revenue, then you can better assess the value and price accordingly.

imo...

Analyse your domain by semrush or ahrefs you will get The real traffic you receive in that period

Sedo is notorious for the bot traffic. Dan was better. Dan had Google analytics integration through which we could get some idea about the source of these clicks and the time they spend on your page.

If newly registered then most certainly bot traffic which explains the low CPC.

Check AHREFS backlink tool and see if any domains have backlinks. If not, there's your answer.

Frankly, it's not worth parking pages with Ads for low quality traffic, imo.

It's most likely bots like others have said. Sedo always shows way more views than other platforms. Here's mine below which I've had there for about a week or so, these same names when pointed at Afternic have about 50-100 views per month

Switched quite a few to Sedo post Dan, thousands of bots "uniques"

Recommendations for the best of the many lander options to combine sales and ads?
Thanks

Changed to "just ads" for the first day of a new month.
Cut down "uniques" by around 80% and received a couple of clicks.

Now getting a more realistic idea of what might be real traffic, see what the next week or two brings.

No offers though- yet! :xf.cool:

Yeah, this kinda thing happens a lot with domains riding a viral wave, first off, make sure the trafficโ€™s actually real - bots love to mess with stats so check it out with something like google analytics or cloudflare. If itโ€™s legit, def worth trying to cash in with ParkingCrew or Voodoo both are solid for mixing ads and selling. You could even toss up a quick site just to show itโ€™s got some potential.Four grand seems like a decent ask for now
