GoDaddy's ToS says 12 days. It can stretch to 17 days (maybe 18 at a pinch, but very risky). However, anything over 12 days is high risk. Or did they change their ToS again?

Moniker and Network Solutions' grace periods are 35 days each. But folks, it's
important to note that these registrars are not required to give such.

Thus, those grace periods can be changed anytime. As usual, it's best to just
renew or transfer before expiration.

Deanna told me it was 18 days and comfirmed it via email.

Thanks Dave, and I totally agree, re-reg before expiration.

My point here is trying to determine which Houses cut back on the "official grace period" they themselves are allowed by the registries.

Also, so that people understand each House is different and not to count on one being the same as the other.

I am in no way advocating stretching it out. ;)

Humm.... This is very nice thread. I think this will benefit many of us.

Sometimes assuming that one reghouse gave XX days and so will the other one can cost us a domain name.

Kenny,

Try these links for the Policies.

https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/agreements.asp?se=+&ci=291

https://www.tdnam.com/trpLegal.aspx?ci=2195

Also below I have included a breakdown of the domain life cycle.

Day 18 after expiration = end of current registrant grace period.

Day 19 Godaddy redemption goes into a 10 day auction period

Day 30 is a 12 day wait for winner up to the 41 day. (During these 12 days the current registrant still has the ability to redeem the name for $80)

On day 42 if the current registrant does not redeem the name it is giving the winning bidder. If there are no bidders on the name then it is given to the person with a backorder. If no back order and no winning bidder the registry takes the name and it goes into redemption with them for 30 days and released to the public for new registration.

I hope this helps
