I have just sold my two domains, refinance.cx and refinance.lu for $5 each.

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=667338

It was an auction, with only two bidders.... $1 and $5.

Still 10 months until renewal. So sad :'(

This teaches us....

Never, ever, buy English keyword in obscure extension...
unless the keyword is really good and can be understood by everyone regardless of the extension.

Those were worth much more... at the high priced domains section here on NP was somebody selling Refinance.cc for pretty much.

And Digitalpoint is not the right place to sell em in an auction I think

refinance dot cc owner's was banned from NP but i remebered he had an offer of $7,500 but he told this name was a website before; BIN price was mid $xx,xxx

i dont know if you posted here and i am assuming you didnt but i think you could get low $xxx if you tried to sell it here

i wouldnt never sell REFINANCE.whatever for less than $x,xxx
BTW, i have REFINANCE dot LI and i know it isnt a strong ccTLD but you have to be patient to sell a name like this

I was expecting xxx too...
Since the starting bid was so low ($1) I suppose many people would be interested, but alas, they were not.

Actually I did try to sell them here:
http://www.namepros.com/domains-for-sale-auctions/400330-refinance-cx-refinance-lu.html

I even offered them for reg fee:
http://www.namepros.com/domains-for-sale-fixed-price/401460-refinance-cx-refinance-lu-reg-fee.html
... but no takers.

I could pretend to have received some xxxx offers for the names.
With refinance.EXT I can at least make up some xxx figures.
But, lying is no good ;)

That's why I will never ever buy English keywords in obscure extensions again. Unless the keyword is really strong and understandable by everyone (e.g. mail.mu)

.li is quite nice as it can be marketed as "Long Island".
The renewal fee is affordable so we can keep it for a few years.
Btw, I have finance.li :)

I agree. I like ccTLDs but I think they should be geared to the local people. That's what they are for after all.

Sorry I missed your auction. Heck of a deal. Refinance domains are collectors names. What is one refinancing commission worth anyway? 15K to 20K perhaps? Next time you get one I might recommend emailing refinance companies in that country stating that you have what they need and want. If they only get only 1 customer a year off the domain they are making a killing even if they paid you 20k to 30k for the domain. What does Ditech spend advertising a year on TV? Hundreds of millions or more I would speculate?
