I've found a domain that I'm interested in and the whois record shows EPP Status: Redemption Period. Here are the dates from whois

EPP Status: redemptionPeriod
Updated Date: 05-Jun-2006
Creation Date: 23-Apr-2004
Expiration Date: 23-Apr-2006

Are the redemption periods standard across registrars, 60 days I think, correct me if I'm wrong. If so, 60 days from which date 05-Jun. I'd like to know when and if the domain comes available, I guess I could back order it. Has anyone had any luck back ordering? I'd like to get my hands on this domain. Thanks for any onfo.

When a domain name's on redemption period, the registrar can only redeem it
on behalf of its last registrant. For com/net/org/info/biz, it's 30 days from the
last updated date and time stamp from the Registry.

If it's not redeemed within 30 days, it'll switch to pending delete for 5 days.
That's to notify all registrars what names are going to be eventually released.

Then they'll ideally be available on the 6th day, though I don't authoritatively
know what time exactly they'll be let go.

Unfortunately various registrars are registering every .com domain name that
becomes available after pending delete to taste whatever traffic results the
.com names are able to get. They'll delete and render available those that do
not produce results within 120 hours, and keep those that bring the bacon.

If you've money to burn, your best option is to backorder the name with as
many BO services as you can afford. Then be ready to go into a bidding war
with various players.

Thanks for the info Dave. I knew this one would be hard to get. I think I'll just monitor it and maybe I'll get lucky, but I know it's a long shot. Again, for the info.
