So I have my eye on some domain for a future project. I know that it's about to drop. I BO it with GD. It sits there quietly in a redemption period for over a month now. Normal procedure, nothing special.
Then - status update:

Expiration Date Change:
27-Jul-2006
to:
28-jul-2006

Domain Status Change:
REDEMPTIONPERIOD
redemptionPeriod
to:
REDEMPTIONPERIOD

What? Same registrar, same status, expiration date is changed by one day.
Iny ideas?

The alerts from GD are weird. Most likely it thinks it has detected a change in status but nothing took place really.

I agree. I used to work for GoDaddy. I dont see anything to be alarmed by. Just be aware that if the domain name is registered @ GoDaddy, it will be going to TDNAM, and if you backordered it, that acts as the first bid (which just made everyone else notice the name as well)

I have 16 monitored and one backordered domain (with Godaddy), and all of them had their expiry dates changed by one day yesterday.

No explaination, yet, but you're not the only one...
