Recommended way to transx (domain & $$)

I am not a professional domainer.
I was wondering.

Let's say if somebody email (call) me directly and offered x amount of money to buy my domain name.

What is the best & recommended way for transaction?
How do I take money and how do I give out my domain?
Do I use a third party service?

If someone contacts you and you agree to a price the best option is to go through escrow.com

They hold the name and then send you the money then the buyer the name.

You can always use sedo.com or afternic.com as they also have escrow services.

Whatever you do - DO NOT pay for an appraisal if the buyer request you too - It will more than likely be a Scam.

Sedo would be a good way to go if you don't mind paying thier 10 % rate (this depends on a few things, they have different rates for various extensions)
