I am looking for a U.K. hosting provider that provides quality hosting and good service.
I am not looking for a large hosting plan but more a simple hosting plan which offers a nice amount of monthly Data transfer. I don´t need a lot of disk space.

Any recommendations?

Unless you really really really need UK hosting, I'd go across the pond and get it in the USA. It's cheaper, you get more for your money and the support is generally better too!

Failing that, you could always hop across the smaller pond to Europe where prices are cheaper also.

Failing that, I recommend 4uHosting.co.uk, same price as everywhere else but good features and support :)

The reason i would want a U.K. hosting provider is because the server would be located in the U.K. and would be a positive contributing factor seo wise.

Thanks for the suggestion Daz.

I used to be in touch with the owner, and have worked with them in the past for some services: ResellerZoom, http://uk.resellerzoom.com/

They are generally fine apart from noticeable outsourced support and frequently overloaded servers, however, the more pricey UK-based hosting seems to be worth a shot and not necessarily the same experience as their budget resellers. You can also see http://webhostingjury.com/reviews/ResellerZoom which has mixed reviews.

Hope that helps, good luck!

The 0.0000001% advantage this gives is worth the extra £50 a month..?

My advice, buy from US and spend the extra money on adwords

Any advantage is an advantage Ian ;) I also have seen blog/forum posts over time from people seeing the advantage or disadvantage from a website hosted or not hosted in the country they are targetting.

I have the .co.uk extension which is a plus as well. I did found one hosting company that looks interesting and regarding pricing it's not something to lose sleep over :)

Which is £5.00 monthly for the Traffic bandwith and enough disk space to host my website.

Flumb.net is the company in question if you have any experiences with them please let me know. I did see some positive reviews from them and they offer a optional refund if you are not happy with their hosting:

14 Day Guarantee
If you are not completely happy with your Flump.net hosting account, you can have a full refund of the hosting fee within 14 days. There's no reason not to give us a try!..

Seems like a good host for my needs.

They don't have any servers in the UK yet.
I have a dedicated with them for 2 years now, and asked them again this week when they would have hosting facilities in UK, so I could gassign a UK IP number to it.

Response was none yet, have talked about it for some time, but no decision expected for a while.

I highly recommend Clook in the meantime.

I have used and heard good things about fasthosts.co.uk, their dedi servers are very responsive on a linux install, and almost as fast on a windows install. Nice pricing plans as well.
