I received a bid of $ 1,250 at Afternic on my domain Euro2012.mobi and started an auction.

EURO2012 will be the European Football Championship in 2012 in Poland and Ukraine (Wikipedia about Euro2012). This event is only once in the 4 years and is the second biggest soccer event of the World. Huge possibilities for this domain!

The European Football Association (UEFA) holds TMs on the names like euro2012, euro2008 and euro2004, but never went to court for domain names. They simply buy or claim the .com extension and do not bother if other extensions have Euro20XX.ext websites. The history shows us that. See the (traffic) history of euro2004.de or euro2004.nl. The UEFA doesn't spend money on going to court for other extensions than ..com, because every 4 years the "event name" changes. But for you it could be very profitable. The traffic stats will be very high before and during the event, but keep in mind that after the event the domain is useless.

I cannot find anything of him in Google, or on Namepros or whatever...

I also have euro2012.eu and after the announcement that Poland and Ukraine will be hosting the event, I got more than 10 bids via e-mail on that .eu name. All from guys from Poland.

I did not host or park the domain, but that week I had a Alexa traffic rank of 110,000 without hosting!!! Current traffic rank is 3 million (http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?q=&url=www.euro2012.eu) and the domain has never been parked or hosted...
