In my 7 years of domaining, I've never come across something like this.
I had a domain expire. My fault. It was 30 days out and it was already too late to renew without paying a redemption fee. So, I let it sit, backordering it through various places.
Then, suddenly nearly 2 months later, I received an email from Godaddy to my private Whois email saying it was listed on GoDaddy and being that I was the contact, they were confirming with me.
So a few days later I decide to email that very private whois account and see if I receive that email back, because it's weird to me that the Domain status has not yet changed.
Someone else! replies through that same whois email that originally forwarded to me trying to sell me the domain.
Just to check ANOTHER avenue, I check with my registrar and they say I still have another week to get my domain through redemption period.
What is going on?!
