Two part question:

Would you think that the words "Real Estate" fit better with towns, cities, and places?

Would "realty" fit better with a specific person?

I like "real estate" when dealing with larger companyies and "realty" does sound better with an individuals name. So does "realtor".

"Realtor" is a live TM of the National Association of Realtors.
I have no idea how actively they enforce it, if at all.
(Probably not as tightly as best buy enforces "Geek Squad", they sent a C&D letter to a priest who has a VW bug with a "God Squad" logo.)

Realtor is very much enforced.

Not trying to pretend I know anything....but...in some areas...the terms "Realtor" and/or "Realty" are trademarks, to the best of my knowledge. I can assure you that "Realtor" is, in some, if not all of the USA. Trust me...I KNOW they enforce "Realtor".

I suppose each domain name is unique and can be used for various proposes.

Real estate for me. I started hearing realty only very recently (English is not my first language)

I have several "Geo Real Estate" names and a couple "GEO Homes" names.

I think both are good.

When looking at domains like that I typically go for whichever gets the search volume. The way people generally use a given term and its alternates can vary widely from one area to another, and search metrics will tend to bear this out.

"Real Estate" and .com names are the best names. However, with the housing market down in the USA real estate names are not in the highest demand as they were a few years ago.

Realty is good for companies. Homes, Property, Properties, FSBO (For Sale By Owner) and MLS (Mulitiple Listing Service) are other common names but not as good.

I have always stayed away from Realtor names because of possible TM issues. Not every real estate agent is a Realtor. You must meet educational requirements, guidelines and pay dues. I know, I am a former Realtor! :|

So does the :| mean that you didn't meet educational requirements, or didn't meet guidelines, or didn't pay dues? :)

Ha! Nope, I changed careers. Getting a pay check every week was better than working for possible commissions. Selling real estate is very competitive in my area.
