Firstly I apologise if I am posting this in the wrong section.

I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea on how much (AUD$) it would cost to create a Real Estate/Business Listings Website, in PHP preferably using Code Igniter or something like that, which such features as adding/removing listings, agent management, client contacts, searchable, etc etc...

If you need further information please let me know, I'm just trying to find out a ball park figure. I was thinking anywhere between $1000-$3000 AUD but I could be wrong.

Thanks in advance,
Sebastian.

why not try open-realty.org. It's an open source. It's for real estate listings. Try to check sample site on my sig.

If you are thinking custom coding done by good coder with complete
site design and intergration, your budget is not much although it depends
on who you hire. You get what you pay for.

If you are looking for premade scripts and CMS...
Take a look at Joomla with real estate listing extension.
I may set one up as soon as I find time.

I let you know once I set the site up ;)

Exinrex: I have looked into open source solutions, and have found them to be very buggy and extremely complicated to edit. I will however have a look at open-realty and hopefully it will provide a sound solution.

Kind of hard to say.
It depend on what you want exactly.
It depend on who you hire as each web site developer is different.

Real Commercial, highly scalable custom script should cost $10K+
It all depend on what you want from your site.

However, this may be more than enough for your site.
Use Joomla with extension from Mosets

You've got to spend money to make money. $1000 won't get you much more than a pre-made template.

HI

You can go for a script like... phplinkdirectory.com but if you want more features... then you are best to hire a coder team to do it for you...

the best sites to find people like this is

rentacoder.com
guru.com
elances.com
scriptlance.com

you can find a team or a single person that can do it for you.

for $1000 you can get a good site made in php..

for $3000 you can get a good site made in 1 month and for the next 2 months you can have the site tweaked to suit your needs.

Just make sure you hire a team/person that has some good feedback...

And do not pay to much up front... Pay as you go..

Thx
Tom

BAck in 2000 maybee,

you'll get a perfectly good template for $150 nowadays,

you'll get a perfectly coded custom site for $1000 nowadays.

just have to look around for a good coder.
