This takes a big set of b@lls:

NEWBURYPORT, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--It was announced today that the domain name FCC.com is now for sale by its owners, Declude, Inc. The rare three-letter domain is ideal for organizations interested in expanding their reach or for those companies looking to establish an online presence.

Prices for single-word domains have continued to rise with millions of dollars each reportedly paid for the likes of cameras.com and sex.com. Even some of the recent .mobi addresses have sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars, making a premium domain such as FCC.com a valuable property.

"Having a short, memorable domain name is vital for businesses or organizations hoping to stand out from the ever-increasing number of web destinations," said Charles Stefanidakis of Declude. "This is a rare opportunity for any number of organizations, or for those with interests or ties to the official government agency, to build their profile and business with a premier piece of web real estate."

Instead of "It was announced today", they may as well have put "We announced today". It's painfully obvious they wrote the press release, so what's the point of 3rd person? Honestly, the only thing in there requiring a big set of balls is actually mentioning the government agency in pushing the sale, which leaves no doubt of bad faith.

Given that the government body of the FCC is wielding quite some power in this country, owning a domain FCC.com would automatically generate an enormous amount of traffic. (even though the domain of the FCC extends in .gov)

I don't believe that the sale of FCC.com would generate the expected millions, since it's reach is almost exclusively limited to Media Companies, which would make an investment in this domain for the sole purpose of just having parked and almost insane one. Then again, you never know which of the big guys that are starting to pick up premium domains is going crazy right now and opens the check book for unreasonable amounts of money....

It's a crazy world.

This is the standard form of press releases and I would recommend you all follow it if you produce a release at some point in the future.
