Hello,

I have a website called Makeaquiz.net... which has just been closed for a month and Is now reopened.

I have found that it has a Google Pagerank of 2/10, however becuase it has been closed it has brought my Alexa Rank right down to 589,311 (down from about 200,000)

If you check out Alexa.com, Quizyourfriends.com has a rank of 15,809 which has gone down too.

If Makeaquiz.net gets less hits, then how come Quizyourfriends.com doesnt have a page rank of more than 0?

Does this give my website more worth than Quizyourfriends.com?

Thanks for an Insight

Hi Luke,

I suppose the short answer is that ther's no direct relationship between traffic and PageRank. PageRank is in theory a reflection of how Google judges a site's importance in relation to other sites in the same field, so while a site with higher PageRank than another site should probably have more traffic, there's no guarantee. Sites with a lower PageRank scould get traffic from sources such as links, while a site with a high PageRank may not.

Lots of mays and shoulds in there, I know...

Mike.

alexa measures number of visitors with alexa toolbar

pr measures incoming links and pr of those incoming links

no direct proportion between the two

lots of pr0 sites get more traffic than high pr sites
