As I've said before, congrats on the news about portlandmaine.tv .

I see you host your own videos and was wondering what your hosting plan is like?

I thought it would be interesting to make a post out of this so us up and coming .TV developers (I'm putting one together now) could know what a new, yet successful site can come to expect in terms of hosting cost...

Sorry for the delayed reply, I am very busy lately.

I cant really answer this specifically because im about to expand to a bigger server, im also researching quality control as far as servers go.

What is it that you are doing exactly with your development? (as in type of site)

No problem with the delayed response. Take your time, I know you probably are very busy.

Basically, I'm looking to develop my Boroughs.tv into a site for users to upload videos about NYC or based in NYC.

I recommend that you buy your own dedicated server to be on a safe side.

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking.

But I'm also worrying that if things don't take off like I'm anticipating, it would be quite costly.

Do you think it would be a big deal to host the videos of YouTube? I really wouldn't want to do this, as I feel the site wouldn't benefit as much... but I guess to get the ball rolling first.

If you want to discourage your visitor visiting your website, then go for shared hosting for youtube clone service.

haha, no I completely do. This is not the road I want to take, obviously.

Know of any good dedicated servers? I'm a noob when it comes to hosting.
