As many of you know, the more you acquire and the more valuable your property becomes, the more you need to safeguard those properties.

I received a call from Godaddy this morning at 9:42 am alerting me that suspicious activity had been found with my account. Godaddy locked my account and therein after called me so that I could reset it.

This was much appreciated on my end. The security of my domains is of utmost importance to me and I'm thankful Godaddy didn't take any chances with my domains.

Strangely, I found myself embroiled in another slight brush concerning uninformed events with a registrar. I had been corresponding with another major registrar of my domains through email. They just so happened to mention that: "You also emailed us regarding an account of one of your colleagues".

I did no such thing and have no idea what they are talking about and wrote them back to tell them so. This issue is unresolved at the moment.

The point here is to be very conscious of your registrar account activity and security including your email account. Cyber criminal behavior happens all the time and you want to make sure you take all preventative measures to avoid it. Thanks to Godaddy for being proactive in protecting my account.

Good move on GoDaddy's part! Reset all your passwords should be your number 1 priority!

(I just wonder will such preferential treatment be shown to their overseas customers?)

We hear people who have problems at Godaddy. This shows they are doing a good job. I have never had problems with them and love their low prices, kudos Godaddy

I been hacked into my accounts before, and I set things up where only changes can be made from my own IP address. That is a great safeguard.

Thanks, Jim

You can do that at GoDaddy?

it would be a good idea to keep an eye on all your accounts (and email addresses) for the next little while, and resetting passwords (after scanning your own computer for spyware) would be a good idea too.

This is exactly what I did when I got home. And the way I did it, I don't even think a keylogger could have figured out the passwords.
