Problem with impolite Hosting provider

Hi all ,

I apologise in advance for this SCROLLER but I need to vent and desperately want some advice !!!!

Can I see what your thoughts are on my current reseller host provider.

I wont mention names as yet but I have been with them for well over a year ,(actually - since I put the request out here at these very forums for one)

I have had several incidences occur.
::1st issue is where my IP has been blocked by him (at least a dozen times) and I have not been able to access my ftp or even view my www sites , or even get to his billing page to pay my account - the first time it happened it took days for ME to work out what the problem was (with the help of a friend) because he couldnt work it out - and when I did and asked him to check to see if my IP was blocked he was short of rude and after he saw that it was indeed the problem I got no apologies , actually i have never had an apology.
Afterwards he claimed my IP was being blocked because of failed login attempts and that I should check my password and be more careful etc - I tried to tell him that I wasnt even getting that far as to login because I was already blocked !! - but he just didnt reply to that at all .

::Now the 2nd issue is that YES sometimes I have been late in my monthly payment - half his fault because of IP suspensions and half my fault as sometimes with work , life , family etc some things skip my mind so i respect my accounts could face suspension if I am late and I wear that if happens BUT I always pay my accounts if not on time then a day or 2 late. Well today , 1 day after the invoice was due to be paid I paid my invoice as soon as I saw it and then 3 hours later I received a termination notice . I emailed him and asked nicely about it and reminded him i paid earlier and I said it was strange and this is what he sent me ;

"Hello,

First thing โ€“I lifted the suspension.

Now to solve the issue, please send me your PayPal email address for payment verification.

Also, why are you paying on the 7th?

Payments should be made before the 6th!

Is it just me or is the part about "why are you paying on the 7th" a little bit rude? Yes I was late but 1 day late !
He has also changed the billing system and on 1 occasion because of that he actually suspended my account because the new billing system didnt work - it took a few days to be fixed and yet I got no apology - again rude or not ?


:::Ongoing Issues is that he is constantly unprofessional or seems rude . An example is that once again a month or so ago when I could not even view my websites I contacted him (I had not even attempted to ftp to them because I had been offline for a few weeks -I just went to view the www.sites) and instead of answering my question of :"hi XXX my Ip appears blocked again because I cannot view my websites could you please look into this and tell me why this is happening again, thanks XXX" ............
I got this as a reply ;
"Hello XXX,
Please, do not send duplicate emails."

Now at first I laughed as I had not sent a duplicate but then failing getting anymore replies to solve my REAL problem I got angry because after replying to him with this ; "XXX,
As far as I can see from my sent items folder there is only 1 of each email to you there so please advise which email was duplicated

THANKS
XXX"

this is what he replied with ;
"But why did you send both here and [email protected]?"

YES thats exactly what he said and ALL he said !

After I fired another email off to him and asked him to get back to my account PLEASE - he then claimed my IP was cleared to which it really wasnt and took 5 days total of my emails before I could finally see my sites again !


Ok sorry for the scroller but you get the idea right ? Is it me ? Am I being too difficult ?
Quite honestly i have had a gut full and instead of taking on more clients I have only stuck to hosting for friends and family . Not what i originally had in mind .
Please tell me what your thoughts are.

Web hosts should also be courteous and respectful to their clients, and if you feel you are not being treated that way, I urge you to find another host.

Do what works best, and talk with your wallet.

You're not being difficult at all, the guy's an a$$. Take your money elsewhere.

Reminds me of someone I had to deal with recently. I'd love to know who the provider is, care to PM me with it?

How much are you paying for this? As that's how much your wasting each month.

Go somewhere else, and quickly too. I don't understand why your staying with him.

Unfriendly service is a cue for you to change providers. Try doing research first before settling with a new one.

There is one answer about the account suspension due to the non-payment, and this is your host's TOS. So, if it's wriiten there that they terminated the account in such cases, there's nothing to do about... Some hosts even have reconnect charges, like ahosting.biz
Payments and Fees:
Payment is due on the defined monthly recurring billing date of each month. Credit cards that are declined for any reason are subject to a $10.00 declination fee. Service will be interrupted on accounts that reach 10 days past due. Service interrupted for nonpayment is subject to a $200.00 reconnect charge. Accounts not paid by due date are subject to a $7.95 late fee. Accounts that are not collectable by Ahosting will be turned over to an outside agency for collection. ..

I guess it's fair enough, at least you are aware of it when choosing a host.

Another thing is being rude to clients, that's what you should never put up with, no matter how much you are paying for your hosting plan.
