Okay me and my friend opened a forum a few weeks ago, and yesterday the site went down because he renewed the domain but they put it offline anyway. He emailed them and they sent him a letter explaining that it takes 48 hours for the website to get back online. I cant see the site. He can. They can. So obviously there is a problem on my end. What do you guys think? What can I do?

I cleared my cache on my browser
I deleted my cookies on my browser
I did a disk cleanup
I rebooted
I even used my OTHER computer which I have NEVER gone to the forum with and its doing the same thing to. Its a parking page. He has Direct Nic if that helps.

I don't know why I'm listing it, you all will be able to go to it. I just need a fix! I really need to get ON the forum!

Okay cool. But.. what happens if the site doesnt come back? Like.. ever lol. Someone said to flush my DNS but I have no idea how to do that. They said:

C:\>ipconfig /flushdns

I tried that and kept getting errors. Im not sure if it matters because I have Vista or what.

Try another browser or at least post here your domain name and we will have a look and that let you know.

If you have Vista, you'll need to run the CMD as Administrator in order for the "ipconfig /flushdns" command to work.

Crazy - AH ya know your right, this damn laptop keeps telling me Im not the admin (when I damn well am lol). Okay I just tried it and it says:

The Requested Operation Requires Elevation

I have NEVER heard it use the word elevation lol. So whats that mean?

By the way Im pretty sure up above I said I tried another computer, which no doubt means I tried another browser... and the.. website ... link.. is also.. up.. above.

Nevermind I got it. Even though I am an Admin I still have to run the DOS prompt AS a admin so i had to go to, programs files, accessories, and run dos prompt as the admin. Flushed the DNS successfully, now lets see if it actually worked. I guess I have to reboot now lol. Why is THAT always the answer to everyones questions.

Oh my computer is acting up, what do I do? Reboot!
Oh my computer has a virus, what do I do? Reboot!
Oh my computer JUST blew up, what do I do? Reboot!!!

Okay lets see if this worked or not.

Nope. Still isint. Any more ideas?

It could be DNS caching by your ISP, which could take up to 1-2 days. If you can see the site from a proxy, nothing wrong with the site. Just be patient. If you want, try another ISP.
