Private Domain Registration Renewal at GoDaddy

Does anyone know if there is anyway not to renew private registration at GoDaddy - I have decided I no longer want it and would rather not pay $8.99?

You need to log into DomainsByProxy 1st, then cancel the private registration. Then you can renew your domain without the privacy

Thats the way. GoDaddy makes it so hard to cancel DBP (domains by proxy) because thats a huge money making service for them. Costs them practically nothing, so every dollar made is pure profit.

Thanks for the answers everyone - I've just canceled it and have managed to renew the domain name only.
