It's not worth registering with Godaddy, let alone using their private registration. You might want to read the fine print on the contract before agreeing to hand over your domain to them—which is what you do when you use their service.mtw5x said:is it worth it to pay extra for private registration, say though godaddy?
You get what you pay for. Don't expect to get any sort of iron clad “private registration” for cheap.mtw5x said:what if its provided for free?
Only if you don't have a decent spam filter. But if you don't then yes, it's a major problem.mtw5x said:is spam really a problem?
Only with crappy services, which I'm sorry to say 99% of the stuff out there is.mtw5x said:does private registration prevent possible buyers from emailing you?

The only kind of private registration I'm aware of that is solid both in protection of your privacy would involve you transferring legal ownership of the name to the private registration company. However when you do this you need certain legal documents to protect your rights.Chibi said:I am interested in private reg for a domain I do not want to sell.
