Demand Media and eNom to Release Premium .TV Domain Names

Nearly 53,000 Premium Names to be Brought Back to Market May 1


SANTA MONICA, CA AND BELLEVUE, WA, April 30, 2007 — Demand Media, Inc., the next-generation web media company, and its wholly owned subsidiary and largest wholesale registrar, eNom ®, announced today that premium .TV domain names will be made available tomorrow, May1st, at 1:00pm PT. Interested parties can go to www.domainsindemand.tv to register the nearly 53,000 names that have been off the market for close to five months.

In December of last year, Demand Media announced a strategic alliance with VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRSN), to leverage Demand Media’s new media platform, industry relationships and web 2.0 expertise to increase .TV registrations. Demand Media is bringing the names to market in conjunction with the release of its proprietary tools to create video-centric websites with social networking with every .TV registration, free of charge.

Im a Rangers supporter so it really does not matter to me who wins but on pure football reasons i would rather see Mourinho v Ferguson in the Final as it would be a great tie.

I HATE the way Chelsea play and usually would rather they lose but im no fan of Pool right now either as they arent the most attractive team around (football wise, not looks of course!)

Ive stuck a wee bet on 2:2 draw and will pray on Goals until 8:58 when i sneek off to look for a premium for 5 min :lol:

Business.tv used to be r=450000.
Now it's r=500000

I notice the same thing, I had my eye on a couple and one of them just went up from 500 to 3,000. Think I'm going to watch soccer now

I wonder if that is in relation to the number of inquiries on domains. Domains being watched get jacked up, etc.....

its what Verisign always the ext to be about Development if not Elequa would have made a deal and regged every LL and LLL .tv

For newbies this is not like the .mobi or .eu landrush these domains are not new you could have regged for 70 % off OCT to DEC 06

In all honesty, who can blame them, after all they are a corporation with a huge .tv marketing budget. It would be nice if they start off with the original Verisign prices, but if someone knows that .tv has raised in value recently, it's them. Let's just see what the real prices will be

I have taken look at a few names I was interested in as well and they have just jacked the prices up on all of them. They are all raised up by 500+.

Oh, that just reeks! The only upside in seeing the premiums raised by that much would be that it takes the smaller and mid sized endusers out of the picture - thereby driving up demand for reg fee domains.

Equity, I think this is THE MOST IMPORTANT piece of information, for those who are new to .tv and think that this 1st May launch is something new.
