Sometimes Cocca registry domains of various ccTLD flavours hang around long after they've expired. I've got about a dozen that are "passed renewal period" but still have all my details on the WHOIS record and nobody else can register.
I've just had an idea to use one of these dropped names and fancied trying to recover it.
I can't renew at the current registrar, but I can still get a new AUTH code & some registrars (e.g. Gandi) seem to accept it as transferrable.
Has anyone successfully done tansferred in this situation? I don't want to give someone a good few £££s and then the transfer fails and I have to try and recover my money.
