Hey Guys,

For Christmas on my "wishlist" so to speak, is 'Pool.com', I myself haven't got the $60+ to backorder something, but I thought it would be cool to ask for for a Christmas idea.

Here's my big question: What do you all think of Pool.com? I have always wanted to use Pool, the best backordering place on earth - in order to get a decent domain. Have any of you had $60 successes? Do you get outbid a lot?

Im really curious to know what kind of domain I can expect to get for $60.

Please share,
Very much appreciated!
Andy

I used to use them before they went to their stupid "blind" auctions. I don't use them much anymore, and when I do, I almost never get into the second phase of the auction cuz I only ever bid $60. I refuse to possibly bid against myself and end up paying a higher price because of it. I stick to enom, snapnames and namewinner mostly now.

How do Enom, Snapnames and Namewinner compare to Pool (by what I have heard - Pool is the best :S )

Also, I've never understood Enom, yet I hear about it everywhere I go; can someone explain Enom to me; is it something like Pool?

Edit: SnapCheck is about the best sorted deleting list on earth, but isn't that owned by Pool too? At least all the backorder links go to pool :s
Edit2: I'm looking into "ClubDrop", am I correct that you pay $10 to start off with (if you win at the end) (+ registration fee, and then if another person bids it goes into an auction), compared to Pool's $60?

Snapnames has all dibs on Network Soloution Domains, Namewinner has all of Dotsters and all four (Pool included) scramble for the rest.

What your referring to is enoms backorder service clubdrop. An auction bid mechanism, but IMO much more cost effective than Pools blind bid process. Quite Good.

No it isn't owned by pool. The backorder links are affiliate based. Pool is one of the only remaining backorder services other than WWD/Godaddy to have any type of affiliate or partner program. Snapnames used to before they changed to their auction platform in early August.
Hope that helped.

That was helpful, thanks ExpireGuy!

So basically there is no "best drop grabber" because some of them have "deals" with certain registrars?

Who wins if Pool and Club Drop both compete for the same name that neither have a deal with the registrar to snap first?
