I get Pool.com's daily list of expiring names, and I'm wondering:

What about the names that I might like to have, but that are not worth the $60 minimum bid?

Since I have got a few names via Pool.com for only the minimum bid of $60 by being the only bidder, I am thinking that there are also names I ought to be able to get for less. What is the best place to bid on such dropping names?

Second question:
One of the Pool.com names went into an auction because more than one person bid the $60 minimum. But NONE of us bid any higher before the auction expired. Now that auction does not appear in my list of auctions won nor my list of auctions lost! What does Pool.com do in such a case? Pick one bidder at random?

GoDaddy backorders are $18.95. They are almost only effective on names that are not backordered with any other services. NameWinner also, they are $40.

The oldest backorder gets the name.

You could also try Enom ClubDrop.

I have been using Enom's club-drop to get .com (and .net) names for Enom's $30 minimum, rather than for Pool's $60 minimum.

My problem is that Enom only handles .com and .net. Sometimes there are .us or .org names dropping that I wouldn't want to bid $60 for, but would happily bid on for less. Does anybody know a place to try for those extensions besides Pool???
