About 3 month ago I backordered a domain with Pool.com and the registering partner was/is BestRegistrar.com.
Pool.com charged my CC and everything went as usual.
Nothing happend untill.....

I tried to transfer the domain, but BestRegistrar.com denied it with thereason:
"Pool did not pay us for our domains" !

I checked this with Pool.com, and they told me
"Pool.com is working closely with BestRegistrar to try and resolve this issue asap"
and offered to refund my money (--> sorry I want the domain)

So Pool.com confirms the non payment(s) Bestregistrar and it seems, that this is not only my case !

Any of you has the same problem ?

PS:
If Pool.com wouldn't have those high backorder rates I would have left them time ago.

Wow, Pool left you as the customer in a terrible position. The least the company can do is ensure they pay their partner registrars promptly!

Sorry nRnF about what happened to you and hop things work out with pool.com! making as much money as possible has been their number 1 policy! Customer satisfaction is not their top priority! poolsucks.com ?

pool are the anti-christ. took me 8 months to convince directi (of whom pool appointed as my registrar for a name) that i was the rightful owner of a domain i paid $600 for.

Directi said they never received the ownership details from pool, even though i showed as the owner with whois, and neither directi nor pool would help me any further.

I will never use them again - take your chances with enom or godaddy or whoever to grab those drops.

At least most of these other guys are also the registrar of your backorder - so negates the "congratulations you ve won, your registrar is someone from outerspace" email you get from pool.....

Pool's Domain Marketplace Won't Pay Me for a Sale

I sold a domain for $269 through Pool's Domain Marketplace back in July and have not yet been paid. Customer service told me that they mail out checks 30 days AFTER the end of the month. So if you sell a domain on July 1, they will mail the check out on August 31. They then told me that it takes 6 to 8 weeks for the check to be delivered by the US Postal Service (USPS says 8-10 days). Two weeks ago they said they mailed me another check, but this time it was by express mail. I checked my P.O. Box today - no check. I have stopped using their services. So let me sum it up, pool got its money from the buyer in a nano second through an electronic payment, and then sent out their paper check by postal mail (on a blind pack mule, no doubt). After weeks of complaining by me, the resent the check byt express mail (pack mule that drank coffee) If you look up bad faith in the dictionary you will see their logo. Pool, you suck.

Pool fedex's payment to P.O Box wahaahahhhahhaa

Pool first told me that they were going to express mail the check to me. Now they email me saying that they just fedex'd it. I wonder if they know that fedex will not deliver to any post office in the US. Hmmm...screwed again by pool.

Here is an update on the issue:

As it seems Pool.com is in litigation with BestRegistrar due to a breach of contract on Pool.com's part, and all domains are blocked.

So it seems, that Pools strategy is a Hardcore "customers money finances it all" and it works like this:
1) Let your customer backorder a domain and make him pay for this !
2) Then don't pay the contracted registrar who did the registration and break with him.
4) Then wait ...wait ...wait... and generate interests over your customers money.

Imo this shows the real intention of Pool.com in this buisiness (Money, Money, Money !)

In the end the final customer paid, and has no chance to put hands on the domains untill all the lawsuit is over.
And only GOD knows how long this will take ........

Question:
Let's suppose I sold the domain meanwhile to a 3rd party. Now I can't compleete the sale cause of Pool.com unethical behaviour(s).
Would it be possible to sue Pool.com for this ?

Never use Pool.com

Ya, but they have the highest chance of getting a backorder ;(
So .... take it or leave it - this is what really sucks !

Got my check - finally

I finally got my check for $242.10 yesterday via DHL Courriers. It cleared this morning. Let's see, Pool collected $269 online from the winning domain bidder at auction in a nanosecond back in July, and I got paid four months later. Pool sucks.

nRnF, did you ever get control of your domain?

If not, why not offer to pay Bestregistrar the amount you bid for at Pool, then ask Pool to refund payment as prreviously offered?

better still apollo, pay best reg for it then chargeback his cc against pool.

I threatened to do so with my 6 month fiasco and pool suddenly (as if by magic) started to help.

Yes at least I can control the basic sets of the domain (forward/DNS), but no transfers, change of ownership, etc.. (I need to transfer :| ).
Also I am not shure what will happen, when the next renewal date comes up.

This was the first thing I asked Bestregistrar, but they denied: "All domains that are involved in the Pool.com non payment case are blocked until Bestregistrars & Pool.com have solved their differences".
I suppose they want to put pressue on Pool.com by Pool.com customers to solve it all in one, instead of having a "Salami Solution" with individual customers.

UPDATE:
Case is unchanged - Pool.com got my money - Bestregistrars my domain - And no efforts were made by Pool.com to solve the problem (besides the well knowen poolish "bla... bla.... bla...") :alien:

Issue still unsolved.
Pool and Bestregistrars just play Ping-Pong as it seems, and the users are the loosers in the game ;(

Most CC companies won't let you chargeback/dispute after that long in the U.S., which I thought was where you were. Be glad Pool didn't know this ;)

Not really, they were incompetent, negligent, had no concern for their customer (period), charged me a lot of money and provided nothing in return. The chargeback threat was the only ammunition i had in my arsenal. Believe me, i would had preferred to have been in the US or canada and then i would have taken out a lawsuit against them. For me, being a UK citizen was a distinct disadvantage...

I am just wondering, what makes pool so great at grabbing domains?

They're partners with many registars. And personally, I discourage using pool too! Ahh...headache with their customer support. I prefer to give up my domain instead of blah blahing with them. Try other snap companies, especially enom clubdrop and namewinner. If your domains are not that biggie ones, they should have a high chance as well. I have some successful catches by them recently.
