Poll: Would you sell a blacklisted domain on NamePros?

Would you sell a blacklisted domain on Namepros without informing?

  • This poll is still running and the standings may change.
  • Why not? Caveat emptor - not my problem if someone couldn't be bothered to do due diligence.

  • No, I wouldn't. This is a community. Besides, I would be too worried about my trader rating.

  • What do you mean "here on Namepros"? I wouldn't sell a blacklisted domain anywhere. It's unethichal.

This has happened to me once and I was just curious what other members think?

Is it okay or should it be avoided?

Since it is a personal question, I've made an anonymous poll so people can say what they think freely.

PS: The question concerns selling a blacklisted domain without informing the buyer that it was blacklisted, not the situation where you state it clearly in the listing.

Update: I mean selling a blacklisted domain with the knowledge that it is blacklisted. Hope that makes it clearer.

Your voting choices did not reflect my opinion. Yes I would sell a blacklisted name if 1) I didn't know it was blacklisted, or 2) With full disclosure that it was blacklisted.

I presume you mean blacklisted by Google?

stub,
Yeah, I mean blacklisted by Google.

I guess I didn't consider it likely that a domain owner would not know a domain was blacklisted.

Both the two parking companies that I use inform you quite clearly about this.

Bodis automatically redirects all traffic from blacklisted domains (socalled zeroclick) so you can see in the dashboard that the domain receives nickles and dimes per day without clicks (meaning that Bodis makes money from redirecting the domain to external websites.)

Voodoo clearly states "faillisted" under domain information in the dashboard.

I assume the other parking companies have similar arrangements?

Alternatively, if a person tried to develop it he or she would soon enough discover that the domain would not rank at all (query site:domain.com).

He he, I just discovered the tags. I'm actually curious to know what people think about this, even if the question sounds strange. I was surprised when it happened to me on here but then I thought maybe caveat emptor prevails completely in the domaining industry.

Unfortunately, In the domaining industry, it IS Caveat Emptor. If I bought a domain on NP which was blacklisted, and it concerned me, then it'd be my own fault.

The only reason I go into my Bodis/Voodoo Control Panels is to add domains. Nothing more. I use Above.com to review my stats. So it's quite possible I would not see any notice about blacklisting.
