Hi guys,

My long search for a poker name is over! I managed to register this name

poker.ki

This is the extension for kiribati which is next door to australia. It wasnt cheap at AU$ 1,000 ( $700 ). I reckon i could at least double my money or more on this name?

no, poker in polish is poker, but word "pokerki" is sometimes used because this is plural diminutive of word "poker"

I agree w/ you. If the buyer is using it as an investment and planning on holding it and letting it appreciate until the right buyer came by, the hefty yearly renewal fee would cut into his return, and would factor into the desirability of the name. However, if the buyer is a developer who is running or planning on running a successful online gaming site, and wants the top poker keyword to be part of his plans, I would imagine the $700 renewals wouldn't pose too much of a hardship for him and the the fact that the name is rare and difficult to come by, would make it easier to write out that $700 check, each year. I agree w/ the concensus here on pricing. You should be able to double your investment w/o too much trouble.

Well, yea its difficult to sell these names to resellers & hard to find end-users.

As you might have observed recently some excellent keyword cctld names with high renewal fee went for very low prices. For eg, sex.nr went for $500 on ebay. Probably one reason for that is immediate renewal required on that name. But then, high renewal fee always keeps resellers back.

Another poker.ext with a fee of $1k is with a seller on NP. Those are real risky investments for relatively small margin on profit. JMO. Wish you good luck & hope you find the right end-user for the name!

Knowing this I reduce my appraisal to $500.
Your best bet is that the .ki nic will lower the fees in the future. This might very well happen as only a few keyword.ki names will be registered with this high fee. Alternatively, you might get lucky that some end user does not care for the fee. Anyway, still a very nice name, John.

If Im not wrong, .bs has a registration fee of $500 & renewal fee of $100.

But then, In the end all that matters is finding the right buyer!

yes renewel on poker.bs is only $100 just to verify what someone said, and being the bahamas and the obvious novelty of hte .bs extension made that domain go so high. good luck with your sale
