Plural vs. Singular Domain Name

I have come up with a domain name for a project and the main keyword in it is supplier. So my dilemma is should it be supplier or suppliers, plural or singular. They are both available and I would buy both of them but which one is more preferred that I should build a site on .

I always recommend registering both of them. That is not too expensive and might be good investment at all

Ok, but lets say that I have money only to register on of them, which one it should be then, plural or singular?

Buy them both and then you can post the full name.
Without knowing what you intend to supply, no one knows whether the singular or plural will fit the best.
If you can think of a couple of products or services which are better suited to plural but not the singular, or vice-versa, you will see that your question cannot be answered.

Ok, yes I understand. Basically the domain names will be: countrynamesuppliers.com

For instance chinasuppliers.com and the website is going to be about the suppliers in that particular country.

Now having written this post I have realised that plural is the right choice for the project as it sounds better and is more accurate.

You can afford to finance a project that's operationally synergistic with the keywords (country name)Suppliers yet you can't afford $7.49 to buy both versions of the domain name?

As I mentioned in my fist post I would by both domain names but I was Just wondering which one to build the site on. Thank you for the helpful post.

I think it really depends on the name. For example:

paintsupplier describes what one does whereas paintsuppliers sounds either branded (the name of a company) or like it contains information on many different paint suppliers. when you register them both, tell us the name and I'll have a more definitive opinion.

I would agree with the plural for country name, and redirect the singular to the site.

Good luck.

I agree as well. I have several sites that the plural was available. Depending on the keywords, I would always try and make the most searched for term be the main domain, and then do a 301 redirect for the other. In this case, I think it makes more sense to make the plural be the main site.

By the way, I would never leave a site unregistered that I intend to pick up later. For example, if you thought you would pick up the other name later - you might be surprised to find it registered when you are ready to pick it up. This just recently happened as I found a great unregistered keyword domain and when I went back someone has registered it the next day. When in doubt, get the domain!
