I miss the old logo which was more distinctive than the circle and arrow that replaced it, and the favicon is missing.

Here are the results so far for the prediction game. The results confirm again that EstiBot is a reasonably reliable ballpark appraiser. The single appraisal tool is performing up to par.

However, I am not happy with the performance of the bulk tool. It needs a lot more development. It's just a resource hog, that's why it's so limited in scope. I can make it better, I just need more (expensive) server resources.

So, the results. Here is a direct comparison to the single appraisal tool (my primary tool). The GreatDomains.com auction results are from http://www.NameBio.com. For those who read this for the first time, the predictions were posted here before the auction.

Not working for me, no results appeared at all and the ads placed right under the 'Suggestions:' will mislead people into thinking those were the results.

Strange, which browser are you using? Have you got Javascript enabled?

I have tested it and found it working with the following systems:
Mac OS X Firefox
Mac OS X Safari
Windows XP Firefox
Windows XP Internet Explorer 6

PS: I removed the word 'suggestions' it was of course not intended to mislead anyone. Once you get it to work you will see what it was for.

The ads need to be there because running estibot is expensive. You can always donate a few bucks regularly every month to help me cover the costs and reduce the number of ads

Ah I have nothing against ads at all. Just that no results was appearing for me and I only saw the ads below the word 'suggestions' and felt that it was kinda misleading.

I'm on Windows, Opera browser, javascript enabled.

OK: I tested it with Opera/9.25 US English in Windows XP. It works fine.

The tool is quite good!

WRT the bulk tools: the bulk Overture is nice. Sometimes the bulk appraisal returns no results! Ie. the list of appraised domains is empty. Weird.

Thanks jido. I agree about the single dictionaries (except tees of course). There is a certain type of dictionaries that's causing me some trouble. Working on it.

Yes the Bulk appraisal tool is very preliminary, and very limited. Don't expect too much from it....

You should have a compounding growth rate for dollar values in your algo.

Yeah, $200 vs $1,000 is the same ballpark...Domains can sell for $1 or $14 million. That's a big range.

If $200 vs $1,000 is not the same ballpark, then we might as well stop trying to appraise altogether. That's very little difference.

No one, machine or human, can actually tell whether a domain will be sold at $200 or $10,000, let alone $200 or $1,000 all depends on the seller and buyer.

What one can do, and what a machine can also do, is give a rough ballpark estimate of the probable neighborhood of value.

$200 basically means $xx - $x,xxx depending on buyer/seller motivation and assets
$5,000 means $xxx - $xx,xxx

That's the way it is....it's just a pointer. Even so, it is surprisingly close in many cases.

As a general comment (not talking about you guys), I've noticed that folks tend to have completely unrealistic expectations and a fantastical idea of what an autoappraiser might be capable of doing. I've worked at this quite a bit and I know it'll be hard to make it significantly better. If you see one, let me know

Four one word domains is not much to base a theory on, but is the problem with these that they are -- ammm - weak names for building websites, even though they are commonly used words?

I am interested in the one word market, and sometimes I see names that Estibot likes a lot, that are like that. Perhaps you could correlate with a business directory or with the names of the Alexia top websites.

Some big news. I've launched Estibot Pro, a paid subscription-based suite of powerful domaining tools. I had to do something because I was running the service at a constant loss, and I've got a mortgage to pay. I am hoping to get enough subscriptions to fund a new dedicated server, which will enable me to produce even better and more powerful tools for domainers.

I am also going to stop these updates here. I have a feeling not many people read this thread, so I am going to start a blog on estibot.com. Stay tuned for the announcement.

All those users who have made donations for Estibot in the past are eligible for free subscriptions. Please give me a few days to get things sorted out.
