Hi,

I recive this message from potential buyer and I do not know what to answer:

Yes, I would be interested in the name.
What would be the next step.

Should I immediately write down what is price or something else?

Thanks in advance :)

If it is a high value domain, ask for an offer. If xxx-xxxx, then quote....

Next step is gauging their expense range. lol. Negotiate & complete the deal.

1. Quote your price.

2. I usually ask them if they own any other domain names. I try to establish their experience. I tell them where the domain is regged and ask them to create an account if necessary.

3. I usually use escrow so I ask if 50/50 is okay. Then I open escrow.

4. Watch escrow progress to close.

I don't usually suggest direct payment. People get nervous.

That's pretty much it. Anything else is just window dressing (small talk).

Write back with a quote and simple escrow instructions. Talk as if you are confident of the value of your domain, if you have some positive points give those simply. Make it easy for the buyer.

And remember most "buyers" expect to pay $50.

Center on agreeing on a price. It is obvious you didn't give them a price yet, So there can easily be no "next step" if you dont agree. So no sense worrying about payment types or escrow yet. Good Luck

Talking Escrow tells the buyer that you know how to make the transfer, and that their money will be safe. The price is of course reasonable, and thus acceptable.

Different sellers have different methods. Experiment, find what works best for you.
