Hello My name is George Verdugo and live in Kansas City I wanted I to set up this page for my Friend Eric Lyon and Family because they lost everything in the Houston Flooding and had to leave his home. If any of you can help him and his familly it would be greatly appricated by them, They did not ask me to this but I felt compelled to do so. Please Help they really need it and have nothing , Furniture, Bedding, Clothing, Computers are all gone due to the Flood. Thanks in Advance #Houston #HoustonFlood #Harvey #Flooding

*** I figured that 15,000 would help them replace ***some of what they lost in their home.

I suggest people should be careful about verifying these things, in every disaster there are a lot of scammers looking to take advantage.

You probably have no clue what you're talking about! Just joined today to troll around and talk none sense! You would have been in a better position have you went through the whole thread and maybe few posts in this forum getting to know who's who!

Basically, your suggestion is NOT in place in this situation.

Hello Raoo,

Welcome to NamePros.

You joined just to post this?
You are correct, people should be very careful about verifying such things, and rest assured, this has been verified.
Read through the thread and you will see everyone is well known to the forum and to the members personally.

Thank you for your concern, and enjoy your time spent visiting the forum.

Peace,
Cyberian

Hi Eric,

I'm so sorry for what you've been through. It's so tough and challenging to face such an enormous disaster and I could imagine the sheer pain and heartache of it all, especially with a toddler. I pray that God be with you and your family.

My sister lives in Houston as well. Thankfully, she is okay.

Now that the goal has been reached, please remember all the hundred of thousands of other victims of Harvey. Paypal is doing a fundraiser as well. https://www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/107638597766619098

Just wondering if there was any update on how @Eric Lyon and his family are doing?

Headlines now are on the Caribbean and Florida with Irma, and unfortunately there is little news of how people are doing in coastal Texas.

Anyhow .. hope the water has receded more and things are slowly coming back to normal. Good luck with everything and best wishes to you and everyone around you!

We met with FEMA at the house the other day since the water receded low enough to get into the neighborhood. The inspection took a little over an hour and they determined everything was a total loss and ordered us to stay outside of the home until we could hire a crew to completely gut it out (Walls, wiring, ducts, cabnets, sinks, doors, windows, etc.) and get rid of all the mold.

The vehicles are both confirmed totaled as well with mold growing inside the dash board and everywhere else. Both vehicles were submerged for days.

We are doing ok and taking it day by day now trying to put the peices of the puzzle back together. It's a long road ahead, but we'll eventually get there. :)

Sorry to hear all this @Eric.

Don't forget to take care of the emotional and mental turmoil - events like this can be traumatic and you need to make sure that you take care of yourself and your family. It will be a long road ahead and I wish you the best.

Update: Here's some pictures of our front yard today as we met with the clean-up/demolition crew to clean out everything that was destroyed before they start ripping out all the walls, windows, doors, electrical, etc. so we can start the rebuilding processes. You can see how high the water was in our house by the water/mold lines on the walls of the garage inside it.

Not to diminish your losses brother, but all of that is "stuff". I understand it is your "stuff" and it hurts to see it piled up like that, but we're glad that you and Amanda and the baby are not in that pile and are safe and still with us.

This too shall pass

Peace,
Kenny

I'm sure to say that the recovery effort seems overwhelming is an understatement at the least, but just keep on truckin' brother.

I can only imagine that sight must bring you very mixed emotions. But like they say, "Keep on keepin' on!"

Thanks for the additional kind words everyone.

We're pushing through it as fast as we can and trying to avoid delays. It's required constant communication with multiple agencies, a construction crew, and other individuals and companies involved to keep the ball moving so it's doesn't drop.

Still a long road ahead, but we are making progress. ;)

it must take quite an effort to get anything done so soon when thousands of families are in the same situation. Good luck with everything Eric!

It does! If you don't stay on-top of FEMA, Insurance, Construction crews, etc. they tend to dilly dally. We'll be full time managing everything for a while. Long days, very tiring.

This all seems so surreal if you are at the other side of the planet and not affected.
Nevertheless I am aware of the fact that every ones life can change at any time drastically and that I could be the next one who is in such (or a similar) situation, no matter how the current situation look.

@Eric Lyon I wish you(r family) and all those which are going through this or any other heavy, extraordinary experience, all the best.

I am convinced, that THE CREATOR OF EXISTENCE helps every individual (in an individually, not necessarily comprehensible way) who is seeking HIS help.
