Hi
Here is something I cannot fathom.
I will give this one example to illustrate my question. This is however not an isolated case.
I was looking at the SEDO site and in particular at the "under $300" bargain bin.
There is the domain freelove.us domain for sale at $100 It has received 19 offers. Now what I dont understand is this-How can the domain still not be sold after having had 19 offers? I mean surely one of those 19 offers must have been close to $100? I cannot imagine that the highest offer out of those 19 was still too far below $100 for the owner . This is only one example. There are some .com domains there selling for $75 and they have had up to 57 offers. Come on! what gives here? I would appreciate it very much if someone can explain this to me. Maybe there is a thought behind here which I miss.
Thank you very much and I,m looking forward to having this mystery solved.
Regards
Fred

When you list a domain for sale at SEDO, or even anywhere else, you can put the price and a minimum offer, .. in that case the price was 100$ and the minimum offer probably was more ..

Quote"when you list a domain for sale at SEDO, or even anywhere else, you can put the price and a minimum offer, .. in that case the price was 100$ and the minimum offer probably was more "Unquote

But that makes even less sense- The price that the seller expects is $100. He did not use the "Make Offer" option.
Anyway how does it make sense if the minimum offer was more then the price asked?

It's no great mystery. People list their domains cheap just to attract attention to it and hope for a bidding war. Or, they list it cheap just to generate traffic to their site. They are not obligated to sell at the listed price. It's just a starting point. Deceptive? Yes. But it's the way it works.

Easy. There is sedo transaction fee. If you sold for $100. You only get $40. So the seller might not want to sell it at $40.

tekz, thats $60 if the dns is not set to sedo. usually it's more like 5% or so (not sure about the figure)
