I would appreciate if anyone could appraise these domains! I am brand new to domain investing, but a quick learner. I mostly wanted to know how much wholesaleelectronics.co is worth because I got an email from someone wanting to buy it.

Also would it be better to 1) sell right now 2) build site and for revenue or 3) build site and wait to sell in the future...

I appreciate any input, thanks!

Negative $100

I've been at this a very long time. 100% of my income in generated via the web through development and speculation.

The .CO is an extension that should be avoided. This name also breaks the 14 Character Rule of Domains.

There are many that won't listen. Don't be among them. Grace delete this domain and stay FAR away from this TLD unless you like losing money. IMO

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it... I read some of your other posts and I do agree with you on the economic situation - I am actually an econ major and had a whole paradigm shift recently on how things really work (didn't learn in school) - there is just so much corruption and the Fed reserve is just a banking cartel that can print money out of thin air... The central banks are buying up tons of gold secretly, so that is a sign things are soon going to happen. My philosophy is to go for cashflow instead of capital gains...but like I said I am new to domain investing, but I'm curious what you mean by making money from "speculation." And typically do you sell domains or mostly just built up sites to gain consistent revenue from advertising and such? Thanks again

Hey Bud,

Low $xxx reseller.

I totally disagree with Micro on almost everything. Guys like that, who were in the .com game very early, will continue to line their pockets by having newbies buy more .com which just increases the worth of their portfolios. A word of advice, don't blindly line their pockets but don't blindly buy in a ccTLD. Do the research. If you want good impartial information from a person who knows both .com and new ccTLDs intimately, and sells both regularly, check out Mike Berkens at TheDomains.com. The domain industry requires a lot of study on what are appropriate keywords and what keywords fit the extension.

Above all, make you own decisions and know what you are after. There is a lot of useful information at Namepros.com and other blogs.

Hope that helps.

BTW, estibot can be used as a very, rough indicator. Determining value is more of an art than a science. Don't rely to heavily on it.

In my view, the real money is in development.

I personally buy brandable .COMs and use them to build product sites and subscription sites. There are many, many other ways to generate revenue from domains including but not limited to: building affiliate sites, flipping drops, flipping aftermarket purchases, domain parking.

Most importantly in my mind is to avoid obviously flawed business models. Those would be any type of .CO investing and any type of domain buy-and-hold strategy regardless of TLD.

And this is why: I believe that .COM domain prices will continue to gradually fall over the long term. I believe that .CO prices will plummet moving forward at a rate exponentially higher than .COM and that other ccTLDs and niche gTLDs will also decline faster (just not .CO fast). This belief is based on all the data I have available to me at this time which is vast and too lengthy to cover in this discussion.

Hope this helps. Greg.

A business model can be flawed in any extension, including .com. A lot depends on the person doing the developing.

There will be no "plummeting" of .co prices. And why? There is no where to fall from! The prices in the aftermarket started out fairly low and will continue their steady growth. That's what's been happening over the past year. There have been no bubbles like .mobi and the promotion from the registry has been steady. There is no grand scheme/conspiracy to take over the domain space from .com. .com is .com and .co is .co.

I have equally vast and extensive data to back up my claims. But it all boils down to this: past successes/profits don't guarantee future profits. Much like the last 15 years of .com dominance doesn't guarantee another 15 years of that in the future. There will be many new TLDs coming out. Some will fail, some will succeed. .com is and always will be a great extension, but it will lose some of its thunder as more options become available, especially for start-ups.

Thanks a bunch.

Em
