Hi,

Greetings domain gurus. I'm a long time lurker who has now joined this site
with the objective of becoming more productive with my domaining activities.
To that end, I'd appreciate any and all appraisal feedback for the longtail
EMDs below. None of them have stellar search #s but I think they
could be developed for their dictionary branding power potential. For
instance, I think #5 has pretty good recall strength. At the same time,
it's somewhat generic for the niche. I've included the idea I had in mind
at time of purchase.

1) STATIONERYOFFICESUPPLIES.COM - generic office supply ecommerce site?

2) ONYXTABLE.COM - Pretty specific, still there's a good volume of big G ads.
Maybe develop & market to boutique furniture shops.

3) OPTIMIZESEARCHENGINE.COM - SEO niche seems to stay pretty hot with
advertiser/end users.

4) INVESTMENTSMUTUALFUNDS.COM - valuation techniques for investments/mutual funds

5) ONLINESTOCKINVESTMENT.COM - day trading tools, techniques and resources site

6) CONFIGURATIONMANAGEMENTSYSTEM.COM - long name but thought it might be valuable
to the right S/W tool producer. Decent EM srcrh #s (1k/mo.) x CPC ($12.70)

7) HOUSEINSURANCECOSTS.COM - Thought this might be valuable to ins. agents/R.E. professionals

All in all, I think the $ range for each of these would be somewhere in the
low to mid $xxx for end users(?). Mid. to high $xx for resellers. Not sure though so I need some independent, disinterested input.

I'm not thin skinned guys, so please be frank with your feedback both good and bad.
I appreciate it.

thx,

tsargus

Most of these domains are too long. And they look like phrases people enter into Google search rather than phrases anybody would use in speech or writing -- let alone as a brand name for a website.

"Investments Mutual Funds" is an example. "Investments" -- that's something. "Mutual Funds" -- that's something. "Mutual Fund Investments" -- a bit long, but a thing. However, "Investments Mutual Funds" isn't anything. It's just a sequence of words.

The only domains here that correspond to a real-world phrases used by human beings to communicate with each other are

OnyxTable.com
HouseInsuranceCosts.com
ConfigurationManagementSystem.com

HouseInsuranceCosts.com is a search query, though. It's too narrow to be the topic or brand name for a website. Maybe $xx for SEO. But I see these "costs" domains get deleted all the time. They matter less today for SEO than they did years ago.

ConfigurationManagementSystem.com is really too long. If you can find a company that wants to be found in those search results, then maybe offer it to them for $100. If you're lucky, they'll take it. ConfigurationManagement.com is much better.

OnyxTable.com is probably the best one here. But it's a tough sell.

I appreciate your time and considered response. Thank you.

So for this instance, would it be fair to say, all other things being equal, you view the most value resides where a domain name points to one object, possibly includes semantically related modifiers (adjectives, adverbs) but is also as short as possible? I know there are other issues to consider, but again, all other things being equal, is that a fair summary?

Agree with image authors. Almost all of these are either words in the wrong sequence, the right words wrong words in the wrong sequence, or just too long to be practical.

These would have had some value a while back, simply as one page mini-sites hoping for Google traffic. I would sell them for $x to $xx or drop them.
