:hi:

I think it's a very catchy and highly brandable .COM domain name for a Blog / Forum, for instance ... and some of its potential "investors" are prominent Mobile and Internet players, in addition to a select and extremely knowledgeable and experienced group of world-class Domainers, as well! :lala:

Please appraise: dotMobey.com :talk:

All professional & constructive comments and opinions appreciated, including ideas for its unique and compelling stand-alone development and promotions! :yell: :imho:

Kind regards,
-Jeff B-)

Hi, I think this domain is priceless. Satire at its finest and certainly a piece of internet history. Developed as a forum I believe this domain would be very busy.

I have been with mobi (aka mobey) since its birth and haven't messed with it much. I'm kinda impartial about whether it survives or not, but I digress :)! With regard to dotmobey[.]com, it's hard to actually put a price on it. I think you could get $xx-$xxx to a .mobi enthusiast or mobile end-user, but if developed like ^, it's priceless and would definitely be a busy hub.

Only if you have an iphone, for it won't be mobile compliant for normal phones to view. (not that there'd be anything worth reading there.)

As for appraisal.., like your other names, viewpoints and opinions... -$0.00
Maybe you can still get a refund. :snaphappy:

:-/ I thought you asked RJ to suspend your account for 6 months for a vacation?!?! Hospital full, or a little George Orwell 'Doublespeak'??

Absolutely ... "on the go" while on your super cool iPhoneโ„ข :!: :talk: :lala:
And, it won't be watered down or with a looong & awkward extension that is completely unbrandable and UNKNOWN to all humankind! :o :bah:

Thanks kindly for your mature and professional input, Steven! :tu:

Dot mobey dot com is a distorted name; hence worthless. This kind of domain names are usually short lived and attract only a very tiny fraction of the domaining community to spit out their bad feelings about any particular extension for whatever personal reasons they may have. I regret to say the remedy is somewhere else. :imho:

lol - I'm surprised that it wasn't taken until now.

As far as value goes... I'm sure you'll have an audience. But imho it'll be hard to be taken seriously by professionals due to the fact that you've got an odd typo in your domain. ;)

If you're just looking to have a good 'ol laid back blog though, I think you'll do alright - until everyone is done with the whole "dot mobey" humor thing. So, the domain's value will only go down with time. Develop while it's hot - but the ideal time would've been, say, a year ago.

Good luck with it! :gl:

Actually, someone previously owned it ... and then it went 'Pending Delete' and dropped, and I was the lucky beneficiary at the time (for normal Reg. fee pricing, as well), IMHO. :music:

Righto, I'm confident of its eventual audience ... the spelling, however, is how the long & awkward extension is pronounced, and that was exactly what I was looking for in the domain name! :gl:

I think the complete "dot Mobey" demise - and the REAL truth behind it - will be revealed (and, obviously, actively discussed / blogged about) in early-mid 2010, so even in the Fall '09 (tentaive launch date) I should be ahead of schedule and its full-blown blogging and discussions! :talk: :imho:

Good luck with it! :gl:

It should be fun and interesting, thank you Egnited! :tu:

You're quite welcome Jeff. The main problem with the domain I think is getting people to understand that "dot Mobey" is an intentional typo. A Google search for "dot mobey" brings up only 467 results, all of which come from domainer forums. So, there are only a small handful of people who use the term.

Estibot isn't very accurate of course, but gives your domain a "Reg fee" valuation. If you want to put a 'price' on the value, I would agree with Estibot on this one though. Development is key.

Well that's all the matters then, eh? Congrats on getting the best name for your blog. :tu:

Again, best of luck! I think you'll do well.

Exactly, as it's an highly brandable dotMobey ... I'm expecting dozens+/+ of friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable folks (intitial response has been overwhelming thus far!) from across all the major forums and beyond to come over and blog with me and other Pros at the new and #1 dotMobey.com Blogโ„ข, IMHO. :music: :talk:

I'm not a big fan of kicking people when they are down. But, there obviously seems to be a small market for it.

There will be a lot of domain investors that will have lost a lot of money if/when this ext fails. Here's mud in your eye.

Jeff, were you the guy who laughed very loudly when some poor sap landed on your Boardwalk with hotels when you played "Monopoly"?

I know, it's only a matter of when ... and that's exactly what I (and others) was trying to prevent! :guilty: :yell:

Laugh, Goodness no ... but I do like to stay ahead of the curve! :music: :imho:
