Hello this is my first post. Over the past 5 years I've bought 50 + domain names, but I'm a newbie as to developing, marketing and selling them. I would appreciate any help you could provide on probably the two most common questions newbies ask. What are they worth and how best to sell them?

1.What are they worth? I've been reading about how to appraise so I understand the basics but really need experienced unbiased opinions. I know appraisals are subjective when it comes to certain aspects so feel free to share your thoughts. Wholesale/reseller pricing and the retail/end user pricing

Many of the domain names are directed at players (end user-retail) in the distressed real estate market. The idea is to target real estate investors/entrepreneurs, mortgage brokers, real estate agents, etc.. as the retail buyer. These "players" will use one of my domain names along with a phone numbers on bandit signs to drive people to take action (the words in these domain names is very clear as to its' purpose to those in need.). As you can see they have their flaws, the use of hyphens and to a lesser degree numbers, while not typically being as desirable as those without, can have an advantage in readability when looking at signs on the go. Also you may have better options in creating a distinctive trade mark or brand. There is real value to the signage aspect because, in this market segment, people call from the signs as much as they go on line. Over time search can be manipulated but if it doesn't work as a physical sign then you have issues. They are also suitable for scaling up or down. National to local or local to national branding (international in English speaking countries) is easy to implement while not being tied to a location specific name. I also have good toll free numbers to add to the mix. As I have 20+ of similar domains I would only put a limited number up for sale at any one time, perhaps bundle some together so the purchaser could generate multiple income streams and have integrated cross site economies.

With all that said is it worth spending $30+ to get a “certified” appraisal. I don't get the impression these services are worth much especially if they wouldn't go to the trouble to consider the real branding and signage potential. If you do have any to recommend that would be appreciated.

2. If this question is not appropriate for thread please let me know and my apologies.
I won't be so long winded on this one. Beside NamePros which other auction, reseller service providers would you recommend for these domains? Is it usually worth paying the higher commission rates and fees to use premium services to net the most money? I want to sell a few of them ASAP, within the next 7 days, to see how it works.

Thanks for any input.

No dont do it its a waste of money plus the names might not be worth more than the appraisal cost.

ibuy-homes.com stop-foreclosure.org are ok but take a hyphen hit. The org one seems more polictical and the i buy has a hyphen spliting buy and homes but not i and buy. Low xxx on these two to be nice, the other names are regfee to me. lets see what others on this forum think. Goodluck and welcome to namepros
