.tv PHPMotion - Free Video Sharing Script

Not sure if this one has been mentioned before, but I have just come across this script ( http://www.phpmotion.com ) and thought that other members here might find it pretty useful.

Looks like they have a good number of people using the script, as well as having add-ons and mods being made available.

I have just downloaded it myself, and am gonna have a go and see how it works.

Using the youtube embed mod, I guess it can't be that hard to modify to allow embedding from other sources of your choice.
Using some of the code from vb video gallery mod, I think it can be done.

I can somewhat make the site have me.tv features using vbulletin and vb video gallery mod, but only if we can make it so that phpmotion can have me.tv like features (embedding from different sources).

I think it would be very ironic if someone developed a tv domain into something way better then channel me.

Of course, be prepared for me to scream at you about lousy layouts, no ad revenue profit visibility, can't embed adsense, and then complain in your forums about how you never answer questions and that your priorities are screwed.

Well if you cant embed you can download a program like this one

to find video content on other sites, download it to your PC in BULK, then you can upload it to your phpmotion site in bulk.


Not as easy as embed but it should be faster than finding 1 video at a time.

I know I know its not the easiest.

I did not read the reviews of the program, I mostly meant you could find a program that grabs the videos for you

Tell you what. Since you seem to have time to go out and look around, I nominate you to go out and categorize all the video sites libraries and download them for us.

Then when I need something I will start a thread and say something like "Marlowe, need a poodle balancing a cucumber on his nose". You upload it for me.

Easy as pie.

For Youtube clone scripts, you should also check out Vshare. Great support forum plus for $15 you can remove the vshare copyright.

The biggest problem with these is that in the end, they all look similar.

I want one that I can completely customize to have a more unique layout and the ability to add articles as well.

About the only thing that fits the bill is wordpress with multiple pluggins.

I believe youtube grabber mod doesn't save bandwidth (it just downloads and uploads youtube videos into your server I think)
