I wanted to let all current phpArcadeScript customers, and those who are interested in phpArcadeScript, know that it looks like our hosting company is in the eye of the hurricane:

All servers in the Boca Raton datacenter are down
This affects ALL customers, including us.
In case of emergency, our office phone is xxx-xxx-xxxx, however there's really not
anything we can do at this time until commercial power is restored
which we anticiapte happening in the next few hours (max).
ETA is a few hours at most so hang tight.
Moving DNS to another datacenter at this point isn't prudent.
I'll provide a full update here as soon as I have more information.

Going by that message we should be back on sometime early afternoon, but we cannot be certain. We are in the process of setting up a temporary support forum using our other hosting service, but feel free to contact me on the following for any support or sales questions:

That really sucks. Remember those updates from that one host in New Orleans during the BIG hurricane? Never went out :) Might want to look into them ;)

From our hosting company ...

Update 10:15AM ET: Engineers are still working on the generators.
The eye of the storm appears to be at or approaching Miami / Boca Raton.
Storm should be OUT of the area by 1PM ET (hopefully).

Update 10:30AM ET: Just spoke with the datacenter. The controller that regulates the waveform of the generators is actually the component that failed. They're working on it now, but still no ETA. We're still confident that FPL (Florida Power and Light) will restore commercial power soon. When all is said and done, and we're back online, THEN we'll begin the blame game - and believe me - HEADS WILL ROLL for this.

Update 11:00AM ET: They've isolated one of the generator issues, and hopefully we'll have some further news (or be online) in the next 20 minutes.

We have setup a temporary support email address: [email protected] if anyone needs and support or has any sales questions.

Latest update ...

Many of our shared hosting customers have been impacted by Hurricane Wilma's effects in the south Florida area. Our Boca Raton data center facility did experience power loss this morning, and backup generators, which were tested just four days ago and found to be working properly, are not operational at this time. At this time, we have proactively powered down servers to minimize impact to our shared servers located in the Boca Raton data center. We will restore these servers once power comes back online. In the meantime, we are aggressively working with the local power company to assess when power will be restored, and we are working with the building facilities management to restore service to backup generators as well. We will continue to provide updates and any time estimates on this site as we have them.

We have been given another ETA of 4pm EDT to get our hosting back, but the previous ones they gave us have not been correct.

Latest update ...

Update: 11:15PM ET:
I just talked to the datacenter... one generator is online.... gotta get 2 more up to provide us enough power.... We'll be here and online until all servers are back online.

We also have a temporary support forum setup using our temp hosting at http://www.phparcadescript.com/forum

Here's what we know so far ...

The owner of the company that provides our hosting jumped on a plane to Orlando (only place close enough to the datacenter) and then is driving straight to Boca Raton. The servers were powered on using the backup generators this morning around 5:30-6:00am EST and we online until around 10:00am EST. They then had some issues and power was restored again a couple hours later. But around 1:00pm EST the servers went down and have not been restored. It seems as if the servers are running, but they are having problems getting the data from the datacenter out to the net. The latest we heard from our hosting providers owner is that he made it to Orlando around 9:00pm EST tonight and is enroute to Boca Raton to retrieve all the data and then get them to a new datacenter out of Florida. However, if the datacenter does come back online in Florida they plan to continue using their services, thus we should be back at 100%.

In the mean time, phpArcadeScript is running on our backup hosting provider to make sure we have support available to current and potential phpArcadeScript owners. We did make a backup a few days before the hurricane hit and we are going through that tonight and tomorrow to get the site fully functional ASAP. The only thing that will be not fully functional will be the data from the support forum from before the hurricane. However, once the data is retrieved it will be 100% as well.

Anyways, just wanted to keep everyone up to date with the situation.
