I work in the Real Estate and Finance industry. The other day I was reading my email and was surprised to open a marketing newsletter to find it dedicated to domain names. They started an entire 3 part series about buying domain names.

Here's a screenshot of the email with the link to the actual article. Crazy!

And yes, the woman at the top comes to my office all the time to ask me for business. :)...I just love her!

Thanks for sharing the article...I also have a couple toes in the real estate arena (flips when possible) and I often help agents/brokers find reliable people for their projects. Just helped start a big one yesterday and although the young broker/agent/flipper is very intelligent and very successful, their web presence and domain name are ridiculous. I got on his computer and came up with several great names, most with traffic, and he was not interested...I drove home baffled.

I think that awareness of domains and their value is good for domainers.

However I also believe that the entry of too many domainers into this field is part of why so many domainers are complaining that 2017 has been a bad year for them - too many new or newer domainers have entered the field only to give up or get desperate and dump their names cheap. Too much โ€œforeclosed,โ€ โ€œshort saleโ€ and โ€œdistressed auctionโ€ domain inventory, to use the real estate terms, cannot be good for domain pricing.
