Ok so I just opened a paypal account a few minutes ago because I need to buy a vbulletin license asap!

I added a CC # and completed the registration process. When I try to add funds paypal tells me to go to my local bank to deposit money into my paypal account? I mean seriously, is that the only way to add funds if you're not living in the US?

I thought paypal was supposed to be easy, if that's the only way I'll cancel my account right now because that's ridicilous :(

Anyone with paypal experience, please let me know what's going on..

Cheers,
3D

Doesn't mean we can't talk about paypal.

In my opinion i don't like the way they do things at all, i use nochex, much better.

Same here, and I'm based in the Philippines, where Paypal dare not tread.

Haha, why do they dare not to tread their feet in the Philippines?

I may look into using google checkout soon, but to be honest nochex works great for me, an advatange over paypal, people don't have to signup to send me money from a card.

Paypal operates only in a handful of countries. Unfortunately, the Philippines is not one of these.

Yep. Mainly european countrys, canada and USA. A few not in these countries.

Trust me armstrong, you are not missing anything. PAYPAL wont let me refund to a member on this forum. Unless i refund, i will get negative TR. IT IS NOT MY FAULT! I offered double or nothing to this guy to get him to go away. (2 LNL.net's, not 1 LNL.net.)

I seriously hate paypal for that. I already had enough of this 6 months ago...

[offtopic] I made a batch of Crispy Pata today for my students, one of my favorite filipino dishes. They loved it.[/offtopic]

Been away for two days and I see this thread is still alive...

Speaking of paypal competition - wasn't google going to start something called gBuy? People have been talking about gBuy for ages now - but I've seen nothing yet. Or is gBuy the same as checkout?

Armstrong - I looked for the CC option when trying to purchase the license - only found the following options:

Credit-card - online using any of the following processors:

* Metacharge
* PayPal
* WorldPay

Credit-card - offline using either:

* telephone
* fax

Other offline payment methods:

* Check - mail
* Wire Transfer
* Invoice

I guess in that sense, I did use my CC, but through paypal because Jelsoft doesn't have a direct way of handeling CC transactions. I kept looking for a way to put my CC info directly on the Jelsoft website - without having to go through a 3rd party (paypal).

Oh well, problem was solved the same night - so time to move on :) I'm still wondering what's up with gBuy though, if anyone has some info I'd be happy.
