OK...things got X-files strange on me when I opened up the traffic anaylasis. Huge counts of searches for things that I only have a couple of domains for and far too many results, none for the actual domains that got clicks.

I'm sure Donny has a good explanation for this...I know several people have seen some "weird" numbers...including me.

I must be punch drunk from the World Series last night. I don't see any stats problems right now, are there some issues? And I'm really confused about the traffic analysis issue.

I think some of us got mega botted last night. And late afternoon yesterday, I for one looked at a particular domain of mine that rarely gets any traffic, and the view didn't show up in my stats until late in the evening.

there were no updates in stats yesterday afternoon for hours......then it seems they started coming back a bit....but still dont think they fully caught up....

at least this is what i was experiencing.....same for others?

my searches were 20x what they normally are, most of the other stats are fairly consistent with what i see most days, i guess those bots must have been having a field day

Stats froze yesterday for hours and then when they did the went up about $10 and froze again.

I also saw my stats roll-back yesterday and the day before as they were still going up.

Yesterday I checked in and the stats said $125 and then it dropped to $121 and started back up again.

Searches are high too by about 25% above normal for me.

It would seem they are lower.....but it is still kinda' early in the day. Wait and see, I guess.

I don't think he was saying everything is fine.... I think he was saying he can't find anything wrong and was a little perplexed.

Problems happen all the time with software......that's why I hate programming and working with programmers. It will make your hair gray. :lol:

Donny always does the best he can. Who else in parking is as attentive as him?

The software didn't change yesterday, that's #1. #2, yesterday somebody was preparing for the new stats conversion and that probably is what slowed the processing of stats a bit. We did have about 4 times as many searches yesterday, damn bots are being squashed right now. Whenever we are finalizing stats everyday, the estimating is always about 30 minutes behind, and catches up normally within 20-30 minutes. Stats did just finalize for yesterday, so today's estimates should be caught up pretty soon.

And yes we do accept traffic from India.

Donny.....the thing that confuses me is I was stuck at $114 for a few hours and when it started back up again it only jumped back up to $116 and started slowly meandering upwards from there.

Could that be b/c stats were being rolled back for part of the $114 that was not legit? It just seems odd that the stats did not go up much more that. It felt like I earned $2 for several hours the stats had froze.

I saw earning drop too and then resume upwards.....is that part of the new system you spoke of where stats are processed as they happen now?

Seabass - Anytime. I'm assuming that we are talking about yesterday when it was stuck at $114, not today. So yesterday, we had 4 times as many searches as we normally do, which is no big deal. But we also had 3 times as many invalid clicks. Processing invalid clicks are much slower than anything else. Our stats process normally takes about 2-3 minutes to run, yesterday it was taking close to 10 minutes. We run a new process every 15 minutes, so it that meant we only had 5 minutes to catch up, so we kept getting farther and farther behind. Whenever there is a delay like yesterday, it won't all pop back up at one time, it will take a few hours to catch back up and finish everything.

As of right now all of the stats are caught up and processing normally.

Now back to working on the new stats format.
