I agree, Parked was one of about 8 providers allowing yahoo arbitrage so there is no need to "pile" on them.

I was only doing arbitrage for about 5 months, but it was enough for me to pay off several very large bills. I would like to thank Donny and Parked for making my life very very nice for at least just a few months.

I will be keeping most of my domains at parked and moving a few of them to hostgator to start my new career in affiliate marketing...let the learning begin...again.... :'(

Yeah ... I'll do same..

Anyone received such TOS reminder email from SN/NameMedia ? I didn't receive such email..

56 members are online :hehe: :'( most seeming to crying.

And, what do we all think Donny's VISIT to Yahoo a few weeks back was actually all about?

Joe - I wish I could say it was anything about this, but at the time it was about slumping RPC for some and TQ scores. And I went to the Yahoo store to get as I told them some "Yahoo collectors items", I joke with them that somebody would come by them because of their low stock price. If I only knew.

Donny,

Thanks for clarifying directly and all your support.

Have you had ANY discussions with Yahoo directly regarding this new development? Any hope there might be a reversal in the future?

Personally, I feel the extremely short notice was very unprofessional and a slap in the face to all of us.

Saying that arbitrage affected the overall RPC of your niches is pure rubbish. My TQ score was CONSISTENTLY a 10. I had over a 70% CTR on my major domains. I was delivering quality traffic in a way that made everyone a little money (Google, Parked, Me, and ultimately Yahoo). Now I'm not. I've heard people refer to this as "recycled" traffic. I disagree. This was traffic that was on Google that I brought to Yahoo. No offense, but most of them wouldn't have gotten to Yahoo on their own. I don't blame Donny for this, he knows I appreciate the opportunity. But for Yahoo to suddenly enforce this is just plain silly. There are other opportunities and I'll now have to pursue them. It's a shame though to have to leave Parked, they have treated me fabulously.

I'd LOVE to know what percentage of their traffic this will affect.

I imagine you guys will be taking a severe hit on valentines day. I wonder how much of your daily take was coming from arbitrage....uuuggg...this is such a bummer.....as Jeffery Lebowski once said..." mind if I do a J ".........

Matt - Let's not get in a pissing match again. I won't go into your thread and start posting things like "I told you so". So you should stay out of ours unless you have something with substance. Thank you.

Joe - I have talked to Yahoo on 3 occasions today about this. I do think they do not know the $ amount that they will lose because of this. But they are determined to clean up the "recycled traffic". I think this will effect Yahoo, MSN, and Google, but also the smaller companies as well.

I will say that right now I know of at least one person who is doing arbitrage on every parking company, including the ones that you mentioned. And some of the ones you mentioned know that people are doing arbitrage with them.
Donny

Knew I wasn't the only one that knows this, If they didn't allow any arbitrage they probably wouldn't exist.........Names that get true natural type in traffic are few and very very far between and the ones that earn in the hundreds of dollars per month in natural type in traffic are even rarer and then you have the idea of a domain name earning in the thousands of dollars like CellPhones dot com that are probably not interested in parking.

It's not like you don't take arbi! I'm sure there's people that would be glad to prove it.

It's one thing to remind us of your predictions, it's rather another to take such obvious glee in other's misfortune and unhappiness, no matter how much you think it may be deserved. Normally I enjoy and sometimes learn from your posts, but the ones in this and PPC thread are pretty distasteful, and smack of kicking people when they're down. I'm disappointed.

I think Yahoo should get creative. They should allow parking companies to allow limited arbitration per domainer, some thing like this:

- Parking companies are allowed limited arbitration
- Each account at parking company is allowed to do arbitration on a maximum of 1% of the domains in the account. Lets say 1 per 100 or 5 for 500 domains in account, etc.
- The domainers submit there domains on which they will do arbitration
- Parking company approves the domains
- This will weed out excessive arbitration and clutter, but will lead to focused arbitration with higher clicks/conversion
- This will attract lot of portfolios to parking companies, and will benefit both parking companies and yahoo.

Now it was just a thought, no need to argue on the points :)

No, I just warned everyone that it will not last for long in the PPC Thread, and everyone responded like I made no sense because it makes all this money for Yahoo and would make no sense for them to cancel. I was trying to warn everyone in good-will.

Now that it happened and I tried to remind everyone that I said it would happen, you guys are coming back as if I said it in order to make fun of you guys losing money. Netmeg, nobody is making fun of you, and I don't think my posts are distasteful. Go back to PPC thread and re-read all of them from beginning. I think I made it clear to everyone that it is a bad practice that won't last within the industry. Everyone was rolling over me then, and now you and others are rolling over me even more because you are angry. Well...I am sorry. This is the reality. But that's fine, I will stay out of this thread.

I'm not angry; I was never more than a dabbler in arbitrage, and do far better with my developed sites anyway. Plus I own my own hosting company. I'm not down by a long shot. I also had been expecting this all along (I believe I posted such several times back when I first got here, in September or so - I just didn't feel the need to bring it up) You might not have intended it, but your posts did come across as gloating. If that's not what you meant - well, good.

Sorry hear about this folks and this yahoo issue.

Got to know a couPle of you that were a part of this. Hang in there and hope during the good times you banked some cash.

Been wondering when the shoe was about to drop. Didn't know it would be this soon. Also wonder what type of an impact this will have on parked and yahoo.

Me personally I haven't done this so I don't know what type of an impact this has. Can relate some and its an ugly feeling and I lost my number one account last Valentines day.

Matt, from bodis. Why are you even here. Go fight your own problems and trust me you have many and kicked many people out of your site. I used to respect you and your ambitions but you coming here and being rude to donny is not the right thing or saying I told you so. Go have a beer from the 2 checks I didn't cash from you for a whopping 6 bucks and think about your worries.

Good luck everyone.

Let's maybe get back on topic, as this is the PARKED thread.

I wonder what percentage of Parked people were doing arbitrage? Don't supposed you'd tell us, Donny, and there's no real reason to know, except that I'm mildly curious. Was it bigger than a breadbox?
