There is a big misconception of arbitrage.

All of Googles ads were meant to run on real websites and were never intended to be used for parked pages.

I said this many times here and pretty much was laughed at.

I will tell you what is funny.

The tos of Parked forbids arbitrage, always has, even when Donney says it was ok. Why? Because it was always only to be used for real developed web sites.

http://www.parked.com/tos/.

All other types of traffic including bought traffic, traffic driven by PPC campaigns, traffic directed from hyperlinks are not permitted. If your traffic originates from any sources other than type-in and search engine traffic, you will not be entitled to payment as per this Agreement. Regular checks are carried out and we reserve the right to suspend any domain from our Service at any time, on our sole discretion, if we reasonably believe that you have violated this Agreement; for example, if we suspect that the traffic on your domain is bought, generated or redirected in any way that contravenes these terms and conditions. You may view your parked pages to ensure they are correctly set up, but you may not click any of the advertising links

Your names that have no inherit traffic is not what Google deems good traffic for its advertisers.

Yet to boost membership or popularity and profits, Parked turned its head from this banned form of parking your names.

The result, for many weeks members of parked names have been complaining about sinking profits.

What do you expect.. profits to go up when on masse arbitrage has been tanking quality scores?.

I saw this coming and to me it was a sad event to see a parking company mismanage the parking accounts this way and drive itself to a lower status.

Thats why parking companies are stricly forbidden to use it, places like Fabulous, Bodis, Trafficz, Sedo will not have it for one minute. They are strict about it for a reason, they want to be the best parking company, not have a flurry of domainers who have names of low qualtily having no or little traffic ruining the parking concept.

So a shot has been fired. Trouble is in this instance the bullet was aimed at Parked.com foot by its management.

I too liked Parked, but having control is not easy and when problems get out of control all will loose. Being desciplined is a two way street.

What mentality comes forward from many here? Statements like, "we talked about arbitrage too much here and should have kept it a secret", lol.

What amazes me is with arbitrage so blatent here, why this action did not come sooner.

The thing is with the whole arbirtrage factor parked is not the only that allowed this to go on.

Every single yahoo provider has allowed this to go on for ages now. All name media sites, tz, dotzup, just to name the biggies.

It seems as if yahoo themselves has been allowing this pratice all this time and paying the parking co's for the traffic.

Who, what, where and why yahoo has now chosen to buckle down on the parking co's only yahoo themselves can answer this.

Its funny though outside of the domain parking industry arbitrgrage is running wild. Even ask.com a HUGE supplier of google ads runs campaigns. I have seen ads on 2 level search engines that go right to ask.com home page with google ads on them.

So folks its the domain industry in my eyes that's getting the shaft with now all the major providers not allowing any style of purchased or driven traffic to a parked domain.

What is needed is a marketing company specific to the domain parking industry that attracts advertisers specific to the domain industry with purchased and driven traffic 100% allowed and the advertisers know this when the advertiser purchases ads????

goodkarmaco - I understand your concerns, in one hand I'm glad that arbitrage is gone and on the other hand I'm not. Understand that this is not a Parked issue, it's a Yahoo issue and all Yahoo based parking companies are effected by the decision to enforce their TOS. We just decided to make this announcement today.

I will say that right now I know of at least one person who is doing arbitrage on every parking company, including the ones that you mentioned. And some of the ones you mentioned know that people are doing arbitrage with them.

Appreciate and agree with your sentiment. It was the right move by yahoo.

But the delivery and tone needs some work. Taking pot shots at parked.com, arb parkers, or specifically Donny doesnt do much except screams "I told you so!" . . .

The need to prove oneself to be more right or smarter is very unprofessional - and if I may . . . childish.

I agree, Parked was one of about 8 providers allowing yahoo arbitrage so there is no need to "pile" on them.

I was only doing arbitrage for about 5 months, but it was enough for me to pay off several very large bills. I would like to thank Donny and Parked for making my life very very nice for at least just a few months.

I will be keeping most of my domains at parked and moving a few of them to hostgator to start my new career in affiliate marketing...let the learning begin...again.... :'(

Too many people talking about arbitrage to domains......That's a problem.

It shouldn't be talked about in the open on a public forum, Some people get mad including some other parking companies. You have people that make a few dollars and post exactly how they did it, then a few more do it and so on.

The DnPioneers had it right by keeping quiet and enjoying it.

Just my thoughts

There are Google ads on Google search pages, Google ads on Google search partners, Google ads on Google advertising feed for domains, Google ads on the radio, Google ads in the newspaper, Google mobile ads, some day Google ads coming to the back of a milk carton near you ... Which of these are "real websites" ?

imo, in my case, arbitraging doesnt make me too big a difference:(.
I think bad domain name will stay bad whatever you do.
if your domain name is good, you do not really need the arbitraging, but if your domain name sux, it is useless to use it.

Bingo. And the entrepreneur who fills this market void with a premium feed dedicated to PPC/nonorganic is going to own the industry.

How much money is spent at GOOGLE and MSN on arbi? I know I spent 10-20k to make a profit 15-25k. I was a small guy not a big guy. I KNOW myself about 20 people KNOW that spend upwards of 50-100k a month each and are making 2-3 times that much in profits. This is going to have an impact on GOOGLE as a company 50% of there revenue just got hammered same with MSN though my guess is only 20 percent there. We will see how this shakes out. My guess is google is going to be forced to open adsense parking companies to arbitrage to make up for all of the lost revenue. I could be wrong but google isnt working for the shareholders right now
There is only advertisers money on the table. You didn`t add a cent, you just took away your slice. There will be other ads to click and other sites to visit, only arbitragers and some parking companies will take a hit.

I dont even for a moment believe google makes 50% of their revene on abi people

This will all be spin doctored into increasing the quality of the advertisers experience which will increase revenue.

Is it only me or is this really the pinnacle of irony?

I'm still wondering about a few things: Logically, the Google and Yahoo will both be loosing millions of Dollars, after Google already having failed to meet objections last quarter, i'm sure share holders will be interested in the explanation of why there's another few hundred millions missing from the books.
I'm already highly surprised that Yahoo's order has been accepted without resistance, it feels to me like we're all just rolling over - playing dead.

And, what do we all think Donny's VISIT to Yahoo a few weeks back was actually all about?

Summa summarum PPC market didn`t grow because of arbitrage and will not decrease because of arbitrage. It`s all about advertisers budgets and their willingness to spend. There is no added value from arbitrage, just splitting same amounts. So, Google and Yahoo will not loose much until advertisers don`t cut their budgets.
